Great traditional tune done very well

I love the arrangement, and the mix, well balanced vocal from both vocalists. Comfortable listening and I would love to see this act live. Keep up the good work, and I will keep listening and sharing.

PERFECT FOR FILM!!!

SOUNDS GREAT, TO ME!!! I PERSONALLY THINK IT SOUNDS PERFECT FOR A MOVIE.....I CAN EASILY PICTURE A CALM BUT FAST-PACED SCENE, IN A RICHARD GERE TIMEPIECE MOVIE....AND THIS BEING THE PERFECT MUSIC FOR THAT SCENE... OR AN 80's FAMILY COMEDY TYPE OF FILM....LIKE MY FAVORITES WITH MICHAEL J FOX, OR MAKAULY CULKIN....MAYBE EVEN THE CHILD-VERSION GANGSTER MOVIE, "Bugsy Sigel".....OR A DISNEY MOVIE......ANYWAY, I THINK THIS IZ THE PERFECT BACKDROP FOR A GREAT NON-TALKING SCENE IN A GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LICENSE IT FOR FILM AND YOU SHOULD HIT PAY-DIRT, IN THE FORM OF A NICE BIG CHECK AND A NICE BIG AMOUNT OF NOTORIETY!!!!!!!!!!!.....I WISH YOU THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!.....GREAT & FUN RENDITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE, RESPECT, & BLESSINGS UPON YOU

Swingin' Jazz!

I enjoyed listening to this cut by Master Mac and Jayvee plus big band! As a jazz musician myself, I am critical of renditions that sway too far from the core, the original melody. This duo clearly feels the rhythm of the piece and sings and scats it to newer and higher levels. Well done

Retro Swing Duet With Pizazz

This is a very fun version of the jazz Americana classic song It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing). Both mister Mac and his partner Jayvee do excellent performances in their vocals. They are believable and passionate in their singing. The song is a great venue for the two of them as the contrasting voices bring different elements to the blend, yet it does blend and form a compelling and very affable sound. The kind of sound you won't easily tire from, rather you'll find yourself repeating the track a few times in a row. There's a lovely trumpet solo too! All in all a nice performance and a nice record. If you enjoy light and fun jazzy records this is a must for your collection. I look forward to hearing more from this talented duo!

I Liked it!

I love ol' classics like this. It was beautifully done 'all' the way around. I liked the fact that you kept it straight forward with the solos nice and clean. It had 'that' swing and it 'did' mean a thing. Great job, Mister Mac and Jayvee!....~ Gizzmow, in Bonham, Texas.

Sound good!

I really like it. Good sound, good voices. It is a pleasure. Greetings from Madrid (Spain). This song evokes this music's golden era. I will continue to enjoy those memorable live recordings of the great standards of jazz.

Doo Waa!

Well presented version of a Duke Ellington classic. The horns are where they should be to bring this version to the forefront. Strong solos accent this well crafted cover as it is and was a foot stomper for sure. The vocals are well articulated and indeed do this song much justice. Nice pickup for a duo partner Mr. Mac. Would love to know where you shop for female vocalists. Nice mix and kudos to all who brought this project to fruition. It's nice to hear someone doing something from the era of good music. Some of the stuff offered up for review on this site is mind boggling. Would definitely love to hear some of your original material. Keep jammin'.

Nice music

I`ve appreciated this version of the Song and I think that the female voice is interesting. Considering that I`m a trumpet player, I put my first attention on trumpet sound in particular .

it don't mean a thing

sounds great, i like the way the song flows , the solo with the sax sound great also i think you can go far with each singer singing a verse each , if you listen to how frank does the version of the song with his flow you see what am saying it a great songs love the band in between but it can be given more of a va va voom you two look good to gather , as far as i can see in this letter picture, i hope in your further song you will give more jazz lick to and also put some scatting in it and make the song last log to give your public a chance to get up and groove with you as i say you both sound great together . i know you live in australia but you should a holiday in american and get into those jazz clubs it will give you more ideas i do the same thing with my song to get even a better sound so go for it the two of you

...and all that jazz...

Mister Mac and the Jayvee bring us It Don't Mean a Thing...a cover of the epic Duke Ellington classic! And for all those trivia buffs out there... it was the muted brass section that did the "doo-wap, doo-wap, doo-wap" in the original version. This effort is about thirty seconds shorter. The vocals are good but not impressive. They stayed well within their wheelhouse but didn't bring anything to the table to make the song their own.
