Bio of the Artist
Mike Grutka leads the Mike Grutka Project. Original name huh? 2007 has been a big year for Mike and the Band.

Mike released his first single, “Song for the Rain”, to commercial radio last winter and charted #12 Indie Up and Coming FMQB, and #29 Indie Top 30 FMQB. The song cut across genres gaining airplay at AC/Hot AC/Modern AC/AAA and Country stations. 40 stations added the song.

Currently the new CD 'Myself Again' has been added to 141 AAA/college stations and is receiving airplay nationwide and in Canada. Pretty cool.

Mike has released 3 albums and toured from Plattsburgh to North Carolina with past dates including a sold out CD release show at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, NY (for the 2nd CD ‘Reach’) Northern Lights, Clifton Park, NY, The Lion’s Den, NYC, and Grape St, Philadelphia. They headlined the 2nd stage at the 4th Annual Troy River Street Festival 2007 where they performed alongside They Might Be Giants, Mink and Stars of Track and Field. Two songs are included on Neil Young’s ‘Living with War Today’ website and 4 different songs have appeared on nationally distributed sampler CD’s.

The songs are bouncy and intense. Well, there's some of both. They are full of hope. The sound has been compared to: R.E.M. meets Neil Young and has a baby with DMB and Radiohead. Or maybe Phish. Or Paul Simon. You decide. Danceable sing along bouncy ‘acoustic based funky modern roots rock and roll describes their energetic live shows, which give the music a new twist as the songs are elevated by the great band Mike has with him drawing such comments as: "Simply one of the top 5 bands I've ever seen." That's from Barry Muscatello who books Franklin's Tower in Albany, NY and owned the club 'Bogies' which was a hotspot for music for over 20 years.

The Mike Grutka Project just finished a tour throughout the northeast behind the radio play for the new album “Myself Again”, that saw them playing in Plattsburgh, Syracuse, Burington, Albany, NYC, Providence, Boston and Philadelphia.

Come see them live. They will love you for it. Buy a CD, go to i-Tunes, and help feed Mike's 3 dogs. (They will definitely love you for it.)
