Bio of the Artist
Mick Morris is an English guitarist/multi instrumentalist from the generation that produced Clapton, Beck, Page etc. After taking up the guitar at the age of twelve he soon began to perform in public, like many of his contemporaries gaining initial experience playing in skiffle groups and dance bands, going on to become lead guitarist with the original Dover-based Rolling Stones and a decade later to co-found cult UK progressive rock outfit Mirkwood. His playing was however perhaps best summed up by Gibson Keddie of Guitarist Magazine who noted Mick's, " ..... reluctance to be pigeon-holed into any of the usual rock, country, jazz, folk etc. genres".

His versatility as a player led to him working as accompanist, sideman or support with artists from all areas of the musical spectrum - blues and jazz with John Mayall, Georgie Fame, Joe Harriot, Tony Coe etc. - rock with Tina Turner, Supertramp, as well as with entertainers like Freddie Starr and Roy Castle.

In the liner notes from his 2009 album, `Reflections', Mick said that he had, "..... always been driven by his passion for the instrument and the composition, rather than purely for any single field of music". He enjoys playing 'Irish' tenor banjo, bluegrass music, bouzouki, mandolin and concert ukulele.

He is working with good friend and fellow guitarist Colin Hinds (China Crisis, Paul Carrack) as acoustic duo Hands On! and also makes regular appearances with veteran Kent-based jazz cornettist Bill Barnacle as well as occasional solo outings.
