While I'm Lying

There are many elements that make a good song. Arrangement, Lyrical Content, Vocal Mesh (Does the singer fit the song), Musicianship, Production Value (The mix and placement of instruments and vocals), and Dynamics are all key elements that can make or break a song. Matt Biondi Crew excels at all of these on the song While I'm Lying. While there is no such thing as a perfect song because everyone's genre preference and personal musical tastes are different; a song can be put together giving it the best chance to be accepted by the masses and have crossover potential. Songs are a very personal medium that when shared are a special gift to us all. Have a listen to While I'm Lying and see if you agree. Scott...WFJ

Lying to Whom?

A blues singer from Italy. Ok. I like the guitar and piano and drums. The vocals need to be pumped up in production. If this is an Italian singer singing English - congratulations on a fine performance. This would be the type of song I'd almost expect to hear in a movie or television show as background to another scene or something fun like that - especially the instrumental solo in the middle.

You need to hear this great acoustic blues

Love the acoustic flavour of While I'm Lying from Matt Biondi Crew. Acoustic guitar, piano with a touch of organ and of course the rhythm section, all seem to know exactly when to play and more importantly when not to play to make this a spacious grooving piece of art. I could imagine that adding some backing vocals over the chorus could be nice. Well done for the performances, recording and mix. Wish you a long, productive and successful career.

Hello Michele Biondi

I love the groove of this one. The musicians are excellent and tune took me where I wanted to go. Except for the bridge in the middle of the song. It kinda took the air out although it came out of it really cool. Jp

Cool!

What a cool sound this song has for Guitar. Very unique song. Good for you, I think it sounds very original. The other instruments sound really good as well. Love the Bass and Drums. Very old School sounding, with a new style. So cool. Keep up the good work. Sincerely Edward Westbrook

Well Done

Well recorded and played, great funk feel. Reminds me of later Little Feat. I dig the organ and the bass track. Overall great effort, not ever boring or losing me. I listened to the whole track and will listen again.

Good job

Very good music, It is interesting with a good idea. I must hear it every day. This is really good music, something special from a heart. I must say very good job. I like your blues music. This genre of music is very special

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations! A very good song to listen to. The energy she spends is indescribable. All this accompanied by a rock rhythm with a vocal well arranged. The guitar and the keyboard make a musical based on keeping any expression of music. The song is very good, as well as a sensational harmony, it has its own identity, that is, is a song that does not look like any other. A very good battery and a sensational dynamics.

I Liked the Groove

The intro had me at first but kept on listening cause it has/had the ol' blues feel. Then the groove came in with the funky bass /piano and B3 organ filling in perfectly. Anticipating the bridge, I couldn't wait to hear how/what or who was gonna take the solo. I have to say that those 35 seconds of whatever it was...was not what I was expecting. If you all could go back and put a bad/ass solo in it's place - the song will be 'so' much better to follow. That, in 'my' view is all that it needs. You have a great groove going on this number. I Liked it for the Bass/Drum feel. Keep it Funky, Matt Biondi Crew! ~

Good stuff!

I liked the song. Very original. It does have a bit of a Dave Matthews and a Stevie Winwood feel to it. The recording is well done. The sound is fresh. It's easy to see that this cat will make some waves. I would like to hear him in his native tongue though. The only negative is that his accent in english irks me a bit but that is not a reflection on the production and the execution of the song which I believe is excellent.

In the proper position...

Matt Biondi Crew brings us While I'm Lying... a power blues vamp reminiscent of Cream, with a little ghost of Robert Johnson and a little Robert Cray thrown in for good measure... There is a Steve Winwood and Traffic fan playing the keys I am guessing because the B3 work with the leslie is pretty good. From a listener's standpoint it has a lot of good points but has a bit of a focus and energy issue. It doesn't quite build of and swell with any dynamic other than the midpoint break. From a producer's perspective I would have added more and more saturation of the guitar and increase the presence of the B3 with some noted sweeps and a few more adjustments of cabinet speed along the way and the build up and coming out of the break should have had more energy. It's a really good song... it just needs the voltage turned up just a bit in a couple areas. I also can appreciate how the mixing and mastering maintained a lot of the dynamic range.
