What Do I Gotta Do Review

What Do I Gotta Do is a modern hip hop and reggae track. It has a sound and clean instrumental track with a vocal hook. The vibe is nice and relaxing and hypnotic. It also features a lead guitar over the top doing some tasteful phrasing. The vocal tone is satisfying and warm. It would be cool to hear more vocals in between the choruses. This track could also benefit from more arrangement or mix up, like dropping to just bass and drums, then dropping the bass, etc. Overall it has a nice feel.

Reggae blues

Didn't immediately strike me at first but this song is a definite blues reggae type hybrid. Its very chilled and some of the guitar lines are really neat. Some are somewhat chromatic and don't always hit the spot. Good for a summer barbeque with some tunes in the background. After a while also got a bit repetitive needed a different melody line or hook, perhaps add some different parts or a tempo style change?

My take

I like the beat. I see what the artiste was trying to do with this song. I like the live sound of the beat,I do think however more could have been doe with the lyrics. None the less it's a really good effort and it's easy to listen to. It do give a chill vibe.

Cool

This is a really late review but we have no control over this. However the vocals could use a little more attitude and soul put into it. The beat is very mellow (great sound) smooth and interesting. You have talent

A nice reggae sample

On a reggae rythm supported by guitars and piano riffs, and a nice bass line also, the song is monochord from the begining to the end. The voice medody is too much repetitive to me. I like the concept and the perfect arrangements but the song let to me the impression of looking a train passing: nothing changes between the first and the last wagon. Anyway it sounds as a very good work to me.

Unique and Vintage.

I love your vintage style Medjivepjis. You took me back to the eighties, your voice is very nostalgic i should say. The musicians are outstandingly amazing, love the guitar riffs and rhythm chops. Very well thought of..however an louder master would have been great tho. Keep it up! ;)

What do I gotta do?

Medjivepjis, Your rhythm is solid. Nice track instrumentally. I believe that what you have to do go get some more respect around here is to take more time in writing something that compliments the beautiful track that you laid down. I am sure you are an instrumentalist, a musician, and you probably play more than one instrument. I can tell you have a good ear for music. Why not feature the vocals a bit more and have the instruments pad, support and feature your vocals. I believe if you spend a bit more time on the lyrical content and feature the vocals more without so much effects, you will gain more respect around here. Overall I like the foundation that you laid. Now go ahead and build something on it.

Feedback

I definitely understand where your going with this instrument, American just not sure if the vocals is on the instruments, is that intentional or your just voicing on the instrument? Am jus asking, but I think it's dope anyways

Nice reggae type beat

I think as an artist it's really hard to review a persons vibe and mood. With me it's all about the inspiration I get and what makes me want to lay a track. But your title says it all you feel like you need to get respect. I don't think you should cut off either of your ears. I personally think people really don't care if you cut off anything people are so pre occupied with their own

What Do I Gotta Do......to get this song out of my head :-)

Hailing from Bristol in the UK Medjivepjis is really taking the Reggae sound to the next level. This song keeps bouncing around my head like a perpetual Musical storm, the fat Bass lines & the ultra smooth Guitar is just the cherry on top. I really like the echo / reverb effect that is added to the Voice overs. If Reggae is done properly it can transcend its own genre and head to pastures new, which I feel is happening right here. I for one would love the opportunity to work with this Artist and really learn a different style of Music altogether. I am finding a lot of Artists & Bands here on N1M that should be on Major Labels & should be kicking the living daylights out of the current "scene".

hi...

I like your beat. I would use it. It sounds good, I wouldn't want the tags of the talking possibly, it is very consistant too. You might want to add the talking to a full hook and make sure your bars go 16 for verse area and 8 on chorrus, 4 for intro, outro, bridge areas, and this is just me saying from what I like for myself usually or when I make one, but it actually sounds good. You made it work, it's just gonna be hard for someone else to work with possibly, but for yourself, you probably know just what you could do with it, and someone else can too, cuz I surely could, some people might be picky tho... Anyways, keep up the good work, and maybe I'll hear from you again... Bye
