Hi all,
I wanted to give you an update on my second album (for those of you on my list who actually exist). :)
I've finished the album and it's titled 'la famiglia'. It contains seven tunes for a total of 44 minutes of music. The album has a wide tempo structure from the opening "canzone della famiglia (Song of the Family)" which is up tempo and very energetic and dance-like to "una perdita nella famiglia (A Loss in the Family)" which is very slow and meditative. The moods range from happy/swaying music like "il picnic di famiglia (The Family Picnic") to nurturing and loving as in "la famiglia innamorata (The Family in Love)". The album closes with a lovely Italianesque piece titled "questa e' la famiglia (This is the Family)". There is something here for all to enjoy.
On my first album, 'Tenderly and Other Thoughts' I used a picture I took of the sunrise off Daytona Beach which was the inspiration of my tune "Tranquil Horizon" for the artwork. For 'la famiglia' I've reached out to an old friend from my Blue Stars days and professional photographer, Kim Kruger. He and I are working on an Italian family themed photo for the album artwork. Kim is quite an original and intuitive artist and he's generated several really great ideas. We have some photography to do and I have a bit of mastering left. But we should be able to release 'la famiglia' by early fall.
As with 'Tenderly and Other Thoughts' you will be able to stream all of my music on Spotify and Pandora. Earlier I mentioned "Tranquil Horizon". This tune has been selected for three curated playlists on Spotify and it picked up over 1,700 streams just in the last month! I'm so glad that "Tranquil Horizon" is moving along! If you haven't heard it, give it a try.
As has been the case, you can find my music on Spotify, iTunes, Microsoft Groove, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, and Pandora. Thank you for following me!
Warmest Regards,
Mark

Hello Subscribers!
I hope all of you are looking forward to a great and relaxing weekend! I've been very productive and am about half finished with my next album which is tentatively titled 'la Famiglia'. I hope to release it in early 2019.
Also, I've uploaded another tune from my inaugural album 'Tenderly and Other Thoughts'. 'Sauce Tomat' is a latin tune meant to conjure up those relaxing tropical breezes. So relax, sit back, close your eyes and enjoy the easy sway to 'Sauce Tomat'. I've attached it to this bulletin. If you like it you can add it to your Spotify, N1M, or Pandora playlists, or purchase it through iTunes, Amazon Music, Microsoft Groove, Apple Music or Google Play.
Thank you all for the feedback regarding Tranquil Horizon. You can stream it from Spotify and Pandora as well as here on N1M. But on Spotify you'll see a picture which looks like a sunset but it's really a sunrise. I have a place on the east coast of Florida and there are many mornings in which I get up early, grab my coffee and sit on the deck to just watch that beautiful Florida sunrise. Those are the most tranquil times for me and it was one of those times when I composed the melody and counter for 'Tranquil Horizon'. The inspiration for the instrumental setting was 'borrowed' from a British composer named Ralph Vaughn Williams who wrote some wonderful things. If you liked 'Tranquil Horizon' you might also love his 'The Lark Ascending'; you will hear the influences I'm sure. The recent royal wedding also employed some of his music.
Well I'm back to composing and so thankful to be following my passion and having you wonderful folks to encourage me. Thank you so much!
Warm Regards,
Mark Werlein

Greetings Subscribers!
Thank you for subscribing! I just uploaded a background picture. I thought you might be interested in seeing it. My favorite place for relaxation and regeneration is Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. So this is not a sunset; it's a sunrise! It is also the picture I gazed at while I was composing Tranquill Horizon!
Thank you so much for listening. Soon I will be taking Trailer Vittorioso down and putting up another New Age effort.
Take care and warmest regards,
mw
