| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Louis Matteo is elbowing his way into the Indie Rock Hall of Fame. Guitar in hand, he crafts heart-on-the-sleeve tales of "heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss" (points if you can name that film) that can bring down even the manliest man.
Matteo grew up in northeast Ohio and began playing music at age 9. Many shows with teenage punk bands and high school wind ensemble concerts later, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 2004 to study at the No. 1 contemporary music school in the world, Berklee College of Music. Matteo graduated in 2007, Magna Cum Laude, with his debut EP recorded and released.
The EP was produced and engineered at Cockpit Studios by Jas Wray of Son of Murphy Productions. Once Wray laid down the final mix, Jonathan Wyner (Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen) took the reins and added the finishing touches at M-Works Mastering Studios.
Confront the Congregation is a hearty stew of acoustic guitar-driven indie music. Imagine Chris Carraba (Dashboard Confessional) teaming up with Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) in a Ben Folds/Elliott Smith-inspired group.
Louis Matteo lives in Astoria, NY and is currently working on his full-length debut album. | | |
