About Lee Knox
I aim is to produce quality music centered on the pulse of the relevance of today but with at times a twist of yesterday. My focus is to be a bridge that transfixes my audience so that the emotions, realness, and a sense of oneness with my lyrics and music feels like an undeniable part of each person listening. I want each person to hear and feel as though I have spoken to them personally about the subject matter. I am a native of Mooresville, NC, a small town located in the heart of North Carolina. My love for music began at the age of six when I began taking piano lessons. Later in middle and high school, I played saxophone for over 6 years, which also included marching band. Since 1996, I have written over 3,500 songs expressing the rollercoaster ride that life gives each of us, but with a special ability; showing the value of love regardless of the genre. Some of the artists that have influenced my style of music are, Musiq Soulchild, Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, Tyrese, Boyz II Men, Tye Tribbett, Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond, and Kurt Franklin.
My music is relevant because I give the listener substance as opposed to what mainstream music provides at large right now. Heart felt melodies and infectious hooks that are relatable to all listeners as they engage their imagination is my premise when I produce.
I am different/unique in that my style is mixed with the style of today with a hint of the R&B/Pop of yesterday. Every song I produce I want to leave a lasting impact and a thumbprint of my soul inside the ears and hearts of every listener. As an active ASCAP writer/publisher, I started Knox It Music Publishing Company in hopes of establishing an international company centered specifically on catering to the musical needs of artists and or publishing companies around the world.
