Bio of the Artist
Part studio project - part live crazed klezmer/SKA/Jewish/Reggae, KLEZSKA has been an extension of Glenn (Skavanagila) Tamir since the Mid-1980's.

Nicknamed Skavanagila by his Jamaican mates, (every musician in Jamaica has a nickname) Glenn was one of the first to combine the musical cultures of Jews and Jamaicans. Others include David Gould's "Adonai & I" and King Django's "Roots and Culture Band." These musicians, in parallel yet separate universes, have seen and felt the connections Jamaicans and Jews have with each other.

There are many wonderful musicians that must be thanked for their contributions over the years. You can hear them on the downloads on this site. They are divided by albums. Please visit www.cdbaby.com/klezska to purchase an CD.
