Bio of the Artist
Kids Can’t Fly formed in May 2006 with the intention of giving the Southampton ska-punk scene a kick in the arse. Members were brought in from many local and national bands, including Zero Consent, Schoolboy Error, Fandangle, Toupé, Speaking of Losers, After Thought, The Generators, Harpoon Larsen and many others. Between the members, they already had a huge amount of stage and song-writing experience, so adapted quickly into writing new songs.

Using the powerful sound of the backline and the edgy sound of the brass section, they wrote a set list of songs, and soon started gigging locally. The band soon found themselves supporting some of the UK and US’s most popular ska and punk bands, including The Fight, Spunge, Jesse James, Big D and the Kids Table and Grown at Home. Through these local supports, the band gained a local fanbase and a lot more live experience.

The band has lost and gained members, and now has the strongest musical line-up yet. The main aim is to entertain the crowd as much as possible, while also putting on a great musical performance. There’s nothing worse than an audience slowly getting more and more bored of a band, and the band try to put out enough fun and energy to keep people enjoying themselves.

Due to Ryan touring with Fandangle, things have been quiet recently, but plans for the future look bright, a UK tour on the go, an EP released soon and many more support and headline slots. Through working their hardest possible to promote everything they do, Kids Can’t Fly hope to move on to bigger and better things very soon!
