His exciting musical fluency and his ability to seem completely at home in a variety of different musical styles have made him one of the area's most in-demand players. In addition to his strength as a performer, Pete Petersen also is a very gifted and diligent orchestrator. His work has been featured on film soundtracks, national touring bands, and recordings. He has arranged and orchestrated horn sections for several working musical artists around the area including Patrick Lamb, Ellen Whyte, Solomon Douglas, and Chris Baum.

Rob Busey
Rob has been a professional musician for the last 35 years, performing throughout North America and the Carribean. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education at the University of Oregon where he studied string bass with Dr. Robert Hladky. Mr. Busey has gigged, recorded and performed on television with grammy nominie Janice Scroggins, keyboardist Dan Siegel,country artist Aaron Judah, The Ken DeRouchie Band, Al Perez, Samuel Wade and the legendary Second Balcony Jump. People magazine's 51st most beautiful person of the year, Rob currently performs with The Ken DeRouchie Band, Al Perez and is the Principal Double Bassist with The University of Portland Community Orchestra. He also believes that Carly Simon once wrote a song about him.

Jeff Knudson
Jeff is a Seattlite that moved to Portland in the early 2000's. He is an extremely accomplished guitarist as well as a studio engineer. He has made a huge impact on the sound and drive of KDB since he started playing with the band. You won't believe this guy, he is totally amazing! Jeff also owns his own recording studio and records and produces acts from all over the Northwest. If your band is looking to record a demo or a full on CD release, talk to Jeff and he'll hook you up

The Ken DeRouchie Band just added a new, HD video/live performance of their song "No Do-Overs". This video was shot at the Skype Live Studios for KINK FM 101.9 in Portland, OR on July 25th 2016. The audio quality is superb and the video looks great. For all of you that have supported this song and added it to your playlists, this is, IMHO, worth checking out.

Hello all,
To all of you that have liked some of our other tracks on N1M, I've just added another song from our last CD. It's called Guide You Home. I hope you like it! I've also added live concert videos for Guide You Home, No Do-Overs and Family Life.
Thanks again for all of your support and feedback on the music, it really means a lot to us.

About Ken DeRouchie Band
If Lenny Kravitz and Joss Stone met at the intersection of James Brown Blvd. and Sly Stone Way while listening to Tower of Power covering an AWB tune. yeah, that about covers it :-) The Ken DeRouchie Band is an 8-piece Soul/R&B/Funk band featuring a phat horn section and a massive rhythm section, performing original music written by Ken DeRouchie as well as a few handpicked classic Soul tunes.
Top players from the Northwest join DeRouchie, including Portland vocal legend LaRhonda Steele, long-time KDB bassist Rob Busey, virtuoso guitarist Jeff Knudson, keyboardist Wayne Thompson, drummer Chris Lay, tenor sax player Clayton Daffron and trumpet player Caleb Denison.
The band currently has two full length CD's released through Burnside Distribution and 2 CD's distributed through (expired link). Their latest studio CD, "Muse" was released in July 2013
KDB's first CD "FunkSoulJazzPopLatinRock" featured their first radio single, "Keep on Walkin'," which stayed on the Gavin Up and Coming Chart for 12 weeks. Later that year they earned the #1 Soul position on (expired link) with the single "Hangin' with My Baby". This was then regionally released as a radio single and was featured on KBBT FM and KINK FM (Portland) as well as G4 TV nationally.
In 2004, "In My Arms," from the band's second release "Y2KDB", was featured on the highly publicized Oregon Bus Project Benefit CD, alongside other Portland music veterans such as Art Alexakis from Everclear and Pink Martini.
In 2005, "In My Arms" stayed on the Top 40 R&B charts on (expired link) for over 6 months and garnered DeRouchie the #11 All Time R&B Male Vocal Award. This led to The Ken DeRouchie Band being selected for the Clear Channel NEW! web radio and satellite radio promotion for the first quarter of 2006.
In 2006, The Ken DeRouchie Band was put into rotation on the Portland Jazz/R&B radio station KMHD and contributed tracks to their "KMHD Spring compilation CD". KMHD also did a 30 minute feature on the Ken DeRouchie Band in March of 2006.
In 2007 DeRouchie and crew released their first live recording entitled "Live at Jimmy Mak's". This CD, unlike the previous releases, was released entirely online through companies like CD Baby, iTunes and Rhapsody.
In 2013, KDB released "Muse", their 4th full length CD. The CD contains 15 songs, 14 written by DeRouchie and one cover. Tom D'Antoni (KMHD - Oregon Music News) called this "DeRouchie's best CD". It is. The grooves are big, the writing is much more sophisticated and the arrangements are top nothch as is the playing by all of the stellar players who appear on this CD.
Hailed as "…one of the best live bands in the Northwest" (Andre Hagestadt, The Oregonian and Statesman Journal), The Ken DeRouchie Band has played hundreds of live shows since they started in 1997 -- from small club appearances to festivals and concert halls; live radio to TV appearances -- including shows with Cheap Trick, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Curtis Salgado and Leftover Salmon.
