Awesome song

I like this song, has a very good melody and it is relaxing to hear. The vocals are pleasant and the music is very nice to listen to. It gives me a good feeling when I hear it and just plain relaxes me. It also reminds me who my savior is and that I can always pray to him and give him my troubles. This is a very good praise song. I highly recommend listening to this and see for yourself. Thank you for this song and I will listen to it even more now.

My Review of "Before Your Crown"

Hi Joe, I gave a serious listen to your song. I can actually hear this in my head being sang during praise and worship at church! Most of the lyrics are strong, however there are a couple of spots I might would change. The melody is nice, I might would've recorded it at a little slower tempo for P&W, but as an album cut, I like the tempo. I think you've got yourself a solidly written tune here! God bless!

Before your Crown

Joe Wamsley from New Jersey pulls off another great tune. He starts off very simply and gradually adds each instrument one at time, then before you know it there's a full really nice sound. The pianist had a very nice riff that he effectively used in the introduction. (Lots of wow factor) I would have liked to had heard the piano in stereo rather than panned to the left, but it didn't take away from the 'wow' at all. All the instruments were played very well and 'EQed' where they each came through clearly rather than cluttered. Good engineering! The only part that I felt uncomfortable with was in the chorus where the male voice always came in so strongly with the female voice. I thought a different voice with the female or the female by herself would have worked better, but the echo concept itself was good! Way to go, Joe!

Nice

First of all the beat is hot and the intro is very invitational. The hook is catchy and nice, and the lyrics are pretty good. Overall I see greatness in this song. It has potential to top the charts. No thorns on this crown

Good flow and arrangement that builds until the drums kick in, and then the song begins to emotionally tug on religious values of love for God. The mix is ok but there are a few moments when the vocals and background vocal could have used a little help in the beginning of the song. I would not have the singer and background sing together that first line if mix cant be fixed. Overall a solid effort.

Before Your Crown

A stirring song of adoration in scripture & worship. This instrumental really top notch, excellent blend of the keyboard & guitar compositions. I loved the vocal and the back up singer is not too intrusive. The percussion is excellent and keeps the listener engaged in the song. I found it easy to remember and sing along to this song, It is worthy of notice. I give it 5 Stars.

Thoughts on Before Your Crown...

The song flows freely from the onset - leading you into a lovely place. The piano and strings usher you into the very presence of God! The melody is soothing to the ears, and the vocals are a perfect match for the melody, with the words inviting you to sing along... The echoing background voices are just right, and take this song higher as it moves along. This song has a beautiful beginning, and just right the balance as it evolves. The message is simple, but powerful in it's passion and the swaying sound creates a beautiful atmosphere to worship God. All of the instruments are flowing together and the dynamics are just right. The harmonies take the song upwards higher and higher... as the song ends I find the journey has been a pure delight! Thanks for sharing such a lovely and intimate song of worship, praise and devotion. In Christ/Michael D'Aigle

Keep up the great work!

Hi Joe, I feel so blessed to be able to review your songs again. Of course, one is drawn in by beats and instruments, then we listen to the lyrics. The melody is wonderful and I like how you echo some of the lyrics. The harmonies are exceptionally, well done. Keep up the great work!

Nicely done; rich, moving.

This track is a fine example of passionate and deeply entrenched faith in God...expressed richly and well balanced. Recorded flawlessly, layered with precision and perfect harmonies, and more. Love it.

Nice mix

Fairly nicely balanced. The string wash is just a bit heavy (at least through the speakers I'm using at the moment) but the vocals are nicely balanced. The piano sounds kind of "synth-ey." I understand we must work within the limits of our gear, but I would urge you to shop around a bit, even among free VSTI pianos to find one with a bit more body. The song evokes a solid emotion, and the singing is quite inspired. For my nickel, I would have liked to hear a "middle eight" sort of bridge that takes the song elsewhere for just a few bars, then returns to the main theme. It helps songs to not become repetitive. Your song is about the right length, IMHO. As a bit of "polish," I'm also wondering if you could have used a stereo expander on the backup vocals to spread them to the sides a bit more. This is all just little stuff -- all in all, a handsome achievement.
