Low Down Blues

Any real blues fan is drawn to the sub genre called Texas blues. There is something about that heavy bottom that makes you want to move in your seat no matter what you're doing at the time. Take that beat and add some meaningful lyrics and an equally meaningful singing performance and you've got something special. Add to that the vulnerability. He pouring his heart out in this song. I'm honored.

Hi Joe Miranda & The Kings of Texas!

Rusty dusty black and bluesy...

Rusty dusty black and bluesy moving through the landscape. I like what I hear. It's getting me more and more into it. The flute is doing great and the performance overall is good. Drums are functioning as a better metronome, but they do their job. Sound production fits well to the song and shows a lack of signs of improvement as it seems to be mixed quiet good. At least a little Mastering would improve the result then. Keep bluesin'!

Great Sound

Great sound to this track. I love the vibe and the groove. Its sustained by a lovely bluesy bass line and the melody just waves around it effortlessly. The rhythm just holds it all together. Great stuff guys, would love to watch this live.

great BLUESY GUITAR AND HARMONICA GET THIS SONG OFF TO A GOOD START I PARTICULARLY LIKE THE GUITAR RIFF IN THE VERSES VERY TASTY AND A NICE FEMALE BACKING VOCAL COMPLIMENTS THE DEADPAN VOCAL TALK STYLE I WASNT EXPECTING THE HELICOPTER SOUND EFFECTS I THINK WAS A NICE TOUCH ALTHOUGH I THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER SUITED AT THE START OF THE SONG FOR GREATER IMPACT AND GRABBING PEOPLES ATTENTION..

Moody & Groovy

I love the soundtrack-ish effect of the song as the music and lyrics are very visual. The flute is an interesting effect, kinda in the formula of power chords+flute = Jethro Tull but not in an over-kill fashion. I really dig the part in the song when flute and harmonica trade off. I'd make the drums a little more syncopated and less hollow sounding, but this is otherwise a great job.

Hi Joe, We have the same name but my real name is Luca. I listen and read the Story of your blues: it's very sad and important story and you 've well done. But sometimes, I think, the music aren't perfect in the rhythm: perhaps is a genre characterization. Good luck mister Joe!

Raw, Gritty, A Dust Storm of American Sounds

Although it's an oft-used phrase, it's true that "Freedom Isn't Free". I mean, it's free if you're a college kid parading around with a sign while chanting some shit you heard in a Bob Dylan song... but to soldiers and their loved ones: NOT FREE. These folks pay a high cost, sometimes the ultimate cost. I like the message as well as the groove. It's also nice to hear music that's actually played with INSTRUMENTS by musicians, I love the harmonica and flute here. Keep it up, and God Bless you! Keep it up.

pstd blues

Loved the song , the band is great . Makes me think of Gordon Lightfoot . Great vocals and subject . PSTD is a big problem to society as well as veterans . . I love the heavy bass in this . " If it don't have a bass it aint a song ' . The only thing I could find wrong is that the lead vocals should be turned up at least 1 notch . I had a little trouble picking out the words at the beginning .

Interesting

I like the mood of the track and the insightful lyrics. Maybe I would improve the production: guitar playing is slightly confused and not so precise and it tends to drag down the song a little. I like the flute and female voice inserts. All in all I enjoyed this track, even if I feel that it needs some improvement to be great.

Wasted talent

This seems to be a very miserable song about some poor deluded sucker who went to Iraq to fight for his country and kill terrorists. As there were no terrorists in Iraq and the US was not threatened in any way, it would be unsurprising if any of the duped jerks took any pride in the murder and torture of innocent citizens for the sake of oil. Looking back on the destruction of the country, the deaths of over 100,000 of its inhabitants, the sick torture imposed and the displacement of 4 million citizens,it seems very reasonable that anyone with a conscience would find it hard to live with their part in it. The band are all superb musicians who with the right song could do very well indeed. This is definitely not the song.

A nice groove moves this song along while sending a message about our nation's heroes. The message of how the heroes are impacted before, during and after battle. Backing vocals and sound effects help complete the eerie feeling of the work our boys experience to fight their way back home.

This song really tugs on the heart strings and really brings home the trauma that fighting in a foreign land brings- even when you make it home. Great sounding guitars and vocals too! ???????????? would definitely recommend.
