Rockin Blues from Texas

Hello Friends, We're finishing out our Third month with N1M music network, with over 50,000 plays and over 1,000 songs downloaded & sold, so we're super excited to have our music out all over the world with so many diggin our tunes! It's been a great world of fun, so many great letters and messages really has lifted us up a great deal. You can now buy our music on cdbaby.com under "Kings Of Texas - Circles 'Round The Sun". We've had a lot of great feedback from my original biker tune, "Center Of Gravity" which, like all our other Rock songs on here, are made to play at HIGH VOLUME!! But it has a cool history. I was recording Tommy Shannon with Doyle Bramhall Jr. at my home studio in 1986 (Doyle was only 17) and Tommy was grooving on a bass line he picked up from his friend Willie Weeks (Legendary session bassist- the bass player on David Lee Roth's "Just A Jigolo" One of the greatest Bass shuffle lines ever recorded in A&R Rock -yeah, that bad boy.) Doyle Jr., his dad Doyle senior, Tommy with Albert Collins' band members jamming to it was a rocking afternoon, for sure. I still have the tapes, and they sound awesome. Maybe we'll get them out, someday. Doyle Jr.'s a big star now.. Anyways, I saw Tommy years later and reminded him of that lick and told him I'd written a song around that bass line and could I please record it? He responded, "Yeah, let's get in the studio and do it!" So I got together with him and legendary drummer from Austin, Barry "Frosty" Smith, and we recorded it. That bass solo part that whips like a giant python in the jungle and then where all the other band parts follow in, is what I'm talking about, heh heh...Of course, I gave Mr. Weeks & Tommy Shannon author credit on that song, as well. Frosty passed away last year, rest his soul, but he's a legend in the Austin Central Texas music scene, having played with Santana, Lee Michaels, and many other greats.. Riley Osbourne, who plays with Kenny Wayne Shepard, is on the keys, and the great Paul Orta on harp. Me of course, on guitar & slide. I love Motorcycles and the lyrics came easily from being a rider all my life, so that's the story of "Center Of Gravity" If you're not playing it really loud, you're missing a lot!! LOL! Have a great week! Joe Miranda
