Bio of the Artist
'Life's too short to live your days on anything other than a good vibe'. Jasmin Karma, The Love Queen, takes music to a new level.
With her soulful breezy Roots-Pop style, stage presence hotness and international fan base Karma's music is destined to make its mark on the radio waves and dance floors worldwide.

From the land down under, this Auzzie had musical influence from an early age while touring with her Jazz and Blues musician parents.   Through learning to play the guitar Jasmin discovered her singing voice and organically began writing songs.  Karma notes,  "Making people smile through music is a form of expression that brings me joy and inspires my songwriting.  I sing because I love it and I'm always inspired to write".

Karma earned a Degree studying Marine Biology and Conservation Sciences and her deep passion for healing the Earth is expressed in her music.
As she says, "We are now learning how important it is to take responsibility for the way we treat each other and our planet. Its an exciting time."

Jasmin's mother had a big influence on the singer-songwriter, teaching her, amongst many things, the art of meditation." I thank my mum for opening my mind to meditation at an early age as it was an important self-discovery step that helped me to find the path to the person that I am today. Meditation opened my eyes to the global impact that love can have on the world."

After studying abroad in Costa Rica Jasmin decided to travel solo around the world for a year. Her journey led her to Jamaica where she was scooped up on the beach by the son of record producer Jack Ruby.  He saw Karma singing and playing her acoustic guitar and invited Jasmin to  record one song at Jack Rubys Studios in Ocho Rios to later present to Virgin records.  Though her music was catching the ear of record luminaries in Jamaica, the songbird was convinced that, with only six months left of her four year degree, she needed to return to her homeland of Australia and finish her studies.

After completing university, Jasmin returned to the Caribbean coast of Central America.  She began to regularly perform intimate solo acoustic sets in Costa Rica at the EZ~Times and the Jazz Cafe also returning to Jamaica to record some original songs.  Here she performed with a Big Band at the Jamacian Jazz and Blues Fest and shortly after at The Rainbow Room in L.A...  A creative soul, Karma is also the designer for her organic clothing line, Love Hotel, a brightly colorful, multi-wear line for women, men and children, that features organic fabrics and sleek classic designs.  The clothing, just like Karma, embodies the singers distinct musical personality, and is influenced by Jungle and Old School, Japan and Jazz, Dance and Spring, BoHo and Blues.

JasminKarma's musical energy transcends not only genres but also languages and species.  When you hear her voice you feel the love vibrating deep in your soul. Her appeal is far-reaching, singing a love song to the ocean and the whales or a lullaby for a baby, grinding down to a dance-hall rhythm and riding the Peace Train, she sings songs in English, Japanese, and Spanish.

She spends much of her life traveling, usually between Australia, LA, and Miami with a home in Puerto Viejo, the Caribbean Paradise of Costa Rica.  'Walaba' (Old Harbor) is a name given to Puerto Viejo, a place where dreams happen and Jasmin's lyrics reflect jungle life 'Down in the Caribbean'.  True to her Australian roots, her music resonates with aspects of her native beach side country where high up in the mountains red earth and luscious rain forests abound.

In February 2009, JasminKarma met rock/reggae artist Kevens at a Stephen Marley show in Miami, FL.  Kevens, a good friend of the Marley family, told Jasmin he was a fan of her music and respected her work.  He introduced JasminKarma to Stephen Marley and shortly after, she was asked to present her music to Stephen at the Lions Den Studio in Miami, FL.  Since that day, Stephen has produced and recorded with Jasmin Karma. The forthcoming album entitled, Love Queen, is slated for release December 2011.

Love Queen highlights two singles produced by Stephen Marley.  The first, Bootyfull Beauty, an anthem dedicated to empowering people to love the beauty they are and the fun of life, highlighting JasminKarma's carefree spirit and irresistible flow.  Deep Blue (the next track earmarked for release) is an untraditional, unconditional love song. With its sensual vocals, insightful lyrics and pop-groove beats it is a catchy song dedicated to the ocean. Karmas gorgeous, vowel-heavy, soulful vocal range gives her songs a mesmerizing sound.  Jasmin acknowledges, "It is an honor to be making music with Stephen Marley.  We share the same motivation to raise the vibration through music.   It's a natural collaboration. Some things are meant to be."

Artists such as Jeff Buckley, SADE, Bob Marley and Family, Ben Harper, Jimi Hendrix, Eryka Badu, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg and Ella Fitzgerald influence Jasmin Karma. The quality of her songwriting and her captivating performances are set to earn her a place amongst some of the most respected singer songwriter entertainers of this era. Her long- term plans are to finish her album, launch her fashion line, begin her international tour and help save the world from destruction.  Jasmin Karma is the Love Queen after all.

The world is ready for music like this - Jasmin Karma's pure energy helps gives her a multi genre appeal from Club Pop to Jazz, Reggae to Hip Hop. Karma, however, has her own ideas and adds, The only genre I connect with falls under the category of Love.  "I'd like to create a new genre ~ Yeah! Love!  Stick that in your box and smoke it.   FEEL THE LOVE."
