| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | This vehicle of constant calamity started in mid 2003 when it was known by its previous name "In A Moment" and underwent some major alterations during the end of 2005 and begining of 2006 which has left Fractious with a solid lineup. In amongst a continual sea of stereotypes it is rare enough to find a band not trying to sound like the latest trendcore fashion. Instead Fractious is treated as a wild animal fed on the rampant emotions of day to day life and only barely domesticated enough to ensure that a limb is not lost in listening to the music. Proud to be a WA band among so many other talented WA bands (such as: Deadlock, Dogs of War, Rezinence(RIP), Dyscord, Subtruck(RIP), Pyromesh, SleeperX, A Decade Today, Tangled Thought of Leaving, Karnivool, Chaos Divine, HWC(RIP), Nix, Sight Transcend, Sparring For Shotgun, Defect Notice..and more). Fractious has had the opportunity to play support gigs for a couple of awesome eastern state bands over the last few year. Fingerprint Resistant, Beretta Justice and Sydonia. Check these bands out. They are well worth your time. If you're in WA and you want to listen to some metal on your radio check out Anger Management 107.3FM on tues from 10pm and Critical Mass 92.1FM on wed from 10pm. But remember the best music you can find is the stuff you search for yourself under no biased opinion. Support the little guys and support local.
Recieving a variety of positive reviews for their recent album, In A Moment's influences have been said to be a mixture of Faith No More, Meshuggah, Deftones, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Slayer and Sepultura. Distorted heavy vocals sporadically interlaced with clean melodies with an assortment of timing and tempo changes, rock induced riffs sedated with episodes of ambience and polyrhythmic drums. IAM have had the pleasure of playing in support of some high quality interstate touring bands such as: Sydney bands Fingerprint Resistant and Beretta Justice and Melbourne band Sydonia. IAM have also succeeded in reaching the semi finals in this years National Campus Bands Competition as well as taking part in the Kalamunda Show and the Yac It Up all ages festival alongside Little Birdy and Red Jezabel in 2005. In A Moment also embarked on their first Southwest Tour of Western Australia in mid January 2007 and are planning another South West Tour plus a tour over East in the latter half of 2007. In A Moment are currently working on material for their new album. | | |
