|  |  |  |  |  |  | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Ihanqmu is a hard-rock band from Oslo, Norway.
The story goes:
The word "Ihanqmu" was accidentally printed on a labelmaker in the early 90`s by vocalist Simen Lid Widing. Naturally he found the name very exciting, and started a short-lived grunge band called Ihanqmu around that time. Their sound was heavily influenced by Nirvana, since Simen was a huge fan.
Then, in 2005, almost a decade later, the band was resurrected. This time Simen hooked up with Asle Tangen, Kevin Alvaro and Vegard Eriksfallet. They recorded a demo containing harder material than the founding fathers, but almost no one has ever heard it.
Due to illness, Eriksfallet had to leave the group in 2007 and Geir Grendar replaced him. The next year the band returned to studio to record four new songs, but Kevin decided to quit the band shortly after mastering was done. And so the album was not released.
But Kevin soon returned to Ihanqmu.
After some time he was followed by a second guitar player, Thommie Myhrvold.
Then Asle left the band...
A lot has happened in the past few years, but now after rehearsing some old material and making some new, Ihanqmu will play anywhere we're tolerated.
That will be celebrated very soon with the release of our explosive four-song EP
- Singularity.
