|  |  |  |  |  |  | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | HATHOR was founded on 1985 in Barcelona city at the "Zona Franca" neighbourhood. At the beginning the band is formed by JAVY GIMENEZ (Bass guitar), CHARLY GIMENEZ (Drums), JOSE NAVARRO (Guitars) and DANNY CARDO (Lead vocal). The first gigs taken place in some schools as well as small private recitals. In 1987, after playing at the “Rock’n’Sec Festival” the band stops its activity because of the active duty of two of its members.
The band meets again in 1988 and a second guitar-player MANOLO (ex – ZENIT) is joined to the band to take part at the “Happening Harcore Festival”. Neverless the band recovers its first line-up a year later.
It is in 1990 when HATHOR goes to AIRAMA 1 studios to recording the first work, an EP entitled “THE WORST NIGHTMARE” that includes four tracks: DESTROY, I WANNA FUCK YOU, GRIPE...NO THANKS!! and SPIDER-MOSHER in Speed Metal style. This is promoted in different concerts: “Maraton de Rock de Vallbona”, “La Sedeta”, “La Bascula”, “Comunique”, to mention some places.
At the end of 1991, the singer since then leaves from the band by musical differences and the line-up is formed by the time with only three members JAVY (Bass & vocal), CHARLY (Drums) and JOSE (Guitars). Even though it is not any hinderance to go on playing, the second guitar-player searching pursue as far as in 1993 DIEGO is joined to the band. He is with whom is recorded the second work titled "NIGHTMARE RETURNS" selfproduced by the band that includes nine new songs in a Thrash Metal wave: THE RETURN, WOKE IN GRAVE, HOLY WAR, FALLEN ANGEL, I'M SORRY BOY, SAMBA & THRASH, UNCONSCIOUS LIES, FOUR WARS and JODIDO FIN DE SEMANA.
It is in 1994 when the band runs through the most difficult moment caused by JOSE leaving after nine years in the band coinciding besides with DIEGO leaving to start its active duty period. After two inactivity years, already in 1996 JAVY and CHARLY decides initiating a new HATHOR project and it is when PAKO MARIN (ex – KEOPS) joins the band as a new guitar-player. While they begins to work new songs, a second guitar-player is sought to complete the line-up.
Finaly is in 1998 when CRISTOBAL RAMOS (ex – ASTUNMAY) joins the band as a new second guitar-player.
With this line-up and a project that begins to be defined, in 1999 is recorded the third HATHOR work titled “THIS WORLD IS OLD” including 4 new songs: THIS WORLD IS OLD, YOU OR MYSELF, ESCAPE, DRESS TO KILL ME besides a new JODIDO FIN DE SEMANA version from 1993.
After five stability years, in the middle of 2003 the band confronts another change because of the OBAL leaving to a different city for a living. Only six months later, already in 2004, SANTI GUEVARA (ex – SINEQUANON) is joined to form the present line-up since then.
In 2005, HATHOR takes part in the “EMERGENZA Festival” passing the different audience phases to succeed in the big final at the Razzmatazz 1 venue. During the "EMERGENZA 2005" half-final at the "SalaMandra" venue in L'Hospitalet city, the show is recorded. This recording will be the new alive album named "ONE NIGHT ALIVE" that includes the songs: WHEN DARKNESS CALL ME, ESCAPE, YOU OR MYSELF, PSYCHOTIC DAY, LET ME SEE YOU STRIP and JODIDO FIN DE SEMANA.
In May 2008, HATHOR apears in a TV program to introduce in advance three songs for the next new album that will be called "THE DARKNESS CALL" and will contain seven songs: WHEN DARKNESS CALL ME, DESTRUCTIVE CREATION, YOU OR MYSELF, PSYCHOTIC DAY, LET ME SEE YOU STRIP, JODIDO FIN DE SEMANA, MOMENTOS plus two extra bonus tracks "tribute to..."
At the end of the same year, HATHOR choose the song PSYCHOTIC DAY to take part in SPAIN KILLS vol.5 Thrash Metal from the 10 CD's Mega-Compilation released by XtreemMusic Records. | | |
