Jewish, He growed up in Israel, at Kibbutz Barkai, where he started his dance studies, at ULPAN LEMAJOL MENASHE by Kibbutz Ein Shemer, in a five years program. Served at the IDF as a paramedic, and after the army, left the kibbutz, to Tel Aviv, and then, he went to study performing arts at the BAY'S DRAMA CENTER, San Francisco, USA. In 1994 he went back to Israel, where he participated as singer , dancer, and actor, in a great variety of musicals , such as: “Cabaret”,”Evita”,”Joseph & the technicolor dreamcoat”,”The Wizzard of Oz”,”Grease”,”Alicie in wonderland”,”Ladies & Gentleman”,”The Rebels”,”West Side Store”,etc. Between 1995 & 1998, he sudied music and composition at “Rimón” School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, in Tel-Aviv, and vocal technique with the great Professor HANNA HACOHEN. In 2001, he went out as a soloist singer, performing at the HEBREW SONG FESTIVAL, helded by IBA , israeli TV. and radio. At December 2004, his first Hebrew solo Album was released, which got very nice complimments from the media, and also two videoclips: “Muchacha ojos de papel” & “Ajshav Hasheket”, both also on this page and on www.youtube.com; also performming in Tel Aviv with his band. In July2006 represented ISRAEL, as finalist, at the UNIVERSONG 1st. Edition, INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL, in Los Realejos, Tenerife, Spain. In August 2006,he participated, as finalist, representing ISRAEL, in the 26th. FESTIVAL DE LA CANCION LATINOAMERICANA DE CALIFORNIA, in San Francisco, USA, and actually WON the FIRST PRICE – DISCO DE PLATINO, performing duo with the israeli singer LILIA("Muchacha ojos de papel") and also WON the THIRD PRICE-DISCO DE PLATA, as soloist ("Donde van?") in the category of: “Interpretes de Canciones Conocidas”. In september 2006, participated, representing ISRAEL, in the 6th. Edition of the INTERNATIONAL SONG FESTIVAL OF THE CANARY ISLANDS; where he obtained 5 HONOR MENTIONS, & 2 SPECIAL DIPLOMAS as Performer and Composer. In september 2007 was selected as one of the 3 semifinalists at the EQUINOCCIO LATIN AWARDS OF SOUTH AMERICA - Chapter Uruguay, with the song "Voluntad" , music & lyrics by JOSERRA VAZQUEZ. This year too, he mooved to Santiago de Chile (Chile).
There he recorded his NEW LATIN ALBUM ("VOLUNTAD"), with PEDRO CORTES as musical producer.
This Album is an International Production , with songs by JOSERRA VAZQUEZ,GAL TAMIR & others, which took place between Tel-Aviv/Bilbao/Santiago de Chile.

From the stages of theatre to the world of pop music, Gal Tamir is proving his worth with “Voluntad.” Between being raised in Israel and performing on stage in various plays such as Grease, Tamir gathers up all of his influences to produce a well written Latin pop record. His warm, mature voice is really what makes this album come alive and it does not let you down. A solo vocal on “Nadie Nos Vio” shows Tamir’s vocal range and just what he has to offer. There is also a beautiful duet with a lead female vocalist on “Sueno,” which compliments Tamir’s voice very nicely. Also, keep your ears alert for the standard Latin dance number on the track “Donde Van?.” Any fan that is fluent in Spanish or a fan of Latin pop music will thoroughly enjoy “Voluntad.”
