| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Controversial and prodogious singer/songwriter, multi-musician, producer philosopher and author Richard W. Rummery hails from Armidale NSW where he continues to work independently re-inventing pop and rock genres. Fresh, invigorating and overwhelmingly positive in spirit, ftprints11 are a vehicle for Rummery's erudite social and cultural criticism and insightful takes on love, desire, death, mystery, nature and life. A philosopher and psychologist by nature, his music ranges from scitrance to electronica, dance, heavy rock to jazz, pop to progessive rock, where his roots lie deeply immersed and now sublimated into wonderful pop he calls flexrock. He cut his teeth as a member of doomed 80s Polygram darlings Shooting School with Ross Stagg, before joining North Coast outfit Giant Steps (Jen Anderson). From there, he formed his first band Rum Company, scoring a radio hit in France with the song 'Eloisa'. After meeting Wayne Capper in prison, ftprints11 was born, recording the first two albums whilst there in a world first release, including the double album 'Bravo' created entirely by prisoners, produced by Rummery and Laurie Fraser, financed and sanctioned by Corrective Services. Single 'I can't escape love' released in US (3000 Records). Discography: View from Nowhere (2001), Colourblind (2002), Unsound (2006), Thump (2006) Cinderella's guts and Traces of Desire (2007, both unreleased), Violet Millions (2009) and the latest Reflexion (2011). | | |
