Song Reviews

''ORPHAN CHILD''

Hot band well recorded, congas a little big in the mix. Overall sound funky and tight love that feel. vocals could be mixed a bit louder and pitching a bit iffy here and there. got the feeling it could have been up a key so that the vocals were stretched, love to hear you belting something out away from your comfort zone vocally.....

Honky Tonk fun with great lyrics

Nice bluesy honky tonk feel to this song. Vocals are like a cross between Loretta Lynn and Bonnie Raitt. Nice horn arrangement, great guitars. This song will keep them on the dancefloor.

Orphan Child Rocking Blues

Orphan Child's hail from Oregon and their music is described on NumberOneMusic as Folk and Country Traditional but the track Rocking Blues E.Z Storm Style has that easy going country blues rock feel with a west coast twist happening. If you like your country rock, 12 bar blues style this is the music for you. Grab a beer, settle down and kick back to this track that features some tasty guitar work and suitably restrained lead vocals.

Good old American music

It is nice to hear very distinguish American country style of music without corporate minds. I can see happy faces of these musicians just enjoying playing. America needs this feeling.

Great stuff

Raucous rhythms, slashing slide, and breathless harp fill the disc. Short tackles Charley Patton’s “Pony Blues” and Son House’s “Jinx Blues” credibly; otherwise, the solid songs are all originals, with the spirit of prewar blues infusing numbers such as “Dirty Stay-Out” and “Knoxville Blues”, which cites lyrics from Robert Johnson and Howlin’ Wolf

Classic blues song indeed. So your song, "Orphan Child" was playing while reports of Hurricane Matthew were creeping across the bottom of the bottom of the news channel crawl. Funny thing- the bad news didn't seem so bad any more. I guess the blues can do that, can't it? Make you turn that critical left side of the brain off for a while. While I'm not exactly sure what your message was in "Orphan Child," it didn't matter- it was soothing, but not in a "I'm falling asleep way." It was more of an "I'm pulling on a well-worn hoodie and heading out into the cold commute carefree." Y'all listen to Stevie Ray, don't you? Keep up the good work.

Straight forward country blues

E.Z. Storm brings us "Orphan Child" a contemporary I, IV, V style country blues song. Very few times do you hear a song of this nature these days with a saxophone as the lead instrument. From a listener's perspective, there isn't much to this song. From a producer's perspective, who ever mixed and mastered this song needs to go back to school... It sounds like the song was mixed from the drummers throne. The sax is buried in the mix and the incidental tracks get more accent.

A classic sounding country blues track. The music sounds pretty good to this track, though the sax is low in the mix during its solo. The vocals don't sound very professional though compared to the rest of the recording. I think the mix needs some work and the vocals need re-recording....the guitar solos sounds pretty good, if not a little predictable, lots of pentatonic and pinched harmonics...all in all, not that bad though.

Great Rocka billy sound, reminds me a bit of Bo Diddly also. Wonderful lyrical talent and vocals. This is a fun song to listen and dance along with in the great country tradition of story telling. The guitar riffs are super. The percussion is right on spot for the tempo for dancing! I hope and pray you keep making music Thanks for sharing you wonderful talent.
