It's Not Over Yet

A test of strength and endurance

David Wayne Moore brings us It's Not Over Yet, an old school rock and roll tune reminiscent of the 70's bands like Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen and a touch of Bruce Hornsby. The piano lead brings a nice touch to the texture of this piece as well as the space created in the mix with the drums and rhythm guitar. If there was anything missing from this song its definitely more harmonies and backup vocals. But that is about the only choice I would make that is different from how this song was produced. There was good use of them, but they were under used and I think that could have made a big difference. That and a more pronounced leslie cabinet for the organ.

Very Bruce Hornsby feel

Track has a very Bruce Hornsby feel to it, but it need some professional audio engineering on this track compression a vocals, along with a little better song writing structure. Over all very poppy feel to the track I would, place this song in adult contemporary and not country though

Another Winner David

Brilliant production - great voice - clean musical accompaniment - theme of song which most people can relate to. This song warrants a lot of decent airplay by ''jocks'' who are seeking brand new talent both in songs and artists. Thanks for sharing this wonderful song with us DAVID WAYNE MOORE.

Piano is great all the way through it. Felt like the song was slow at the beginning but the with the chorus and really at the bridge it starts to come alive. Seems a little long but the piano really makes you want to listen.

Uplifting Anthem of Optimisim

Singer and songwriter David Wayne Moore hits strongly with this story telling country song. It's compelling, optimistic and heartfelt as it reminds us he is destined to reach the goal. This can be felt as a reach the top journey for an artist or just everyone who believes in himself and this can serve as the anthem of promise and the belief in yourself. I see a lot of potential with this song and this artist. The production is built around the acoustic piano and has a lively freshness because of that. Looking forward to hearing more from this artist.

The vocals and music, reminded me more of a Bob Seger style song. That's not a bad thing, I really like Bob Seger's music. The point I guess I'm trying to make, is it is more pop than country. I would have liked to hear more guitar than piano, especially a lead guitar. I also found myself expecting some harmonica. These are just personal tidbits I would have done, if it were my song. I listened to the song twice, and I was lost in the music, more than the lyrics. The third time, I concentrated on the lyrics and I liked the smooth tone of your voice. I also liked the concept of the song, of not giving up. I look forward to hearing more from you.

I like the piano, it's a pretty good intro. The vocals are really good. The lyrical content is good. The production is good. A female background singer would definitely would be an asset. Best of luck with this song, Guy Leroux

Good

I like the way the piano is played and the sort of irregular sense of beat to it. That is like a breath of fresh air! It's a good composition and arrangement. The piano solo is very nice and feels very nice. The various accents provided by things like the piano and acoustic guitar help give the song rhythmic depth. The song has a good feel and vibe. Production notes: On the chorus - the "It's not over yet" part - it would be a good place to put some backing vox/harmonies. And/or with this type of song, you could get away with having the bg vox I mention doing a refrain (as an example of one idea) after the "It's not over yet" bit. This would help lift it out of the rest of the song as standout. I DO like the harmonies that come in about 2/3 to 3/4 thru the song, that is a nice touch to give added interest. Very nice. And good voice, I think it could blend into the mix a little bit better, perhaps with some minor effects to make it sit in the mix better. Overall a good underlying song. Just those little extra production things I mention might take it up that extra step.

First the song. Good lyrics that seem to tell a story about part of the writer's life experience. To me it's saying I didn't make it happen the first time for what ever reason but this time I am more resolved than ever. So in essence it's a take off on the old saying if at first you don't succeed try again. Good allegories throughout the lyrics. The melody is up tempo and flows well. By the time it gets to the chorus you feel you can sing along with it. So I give the song good marks and the hook is there. Next the vocals. The song is delivered with a lot of energy and interpreted well vocally. The arrangement may be a little heavy with the key board but the sound and arrangement are solid. The keyboard is probably too high in the mix for my taste because the vocal gets over run a bit by it at times but that's easy to fix with some tinkering with the mix. As to the arrangement I would like to have heard a change up with some of the instrument being in the lead beside the keyboard just to give a little different emphasis to each verse. The keyboard lead is good for the chorus and bridge but everyone hears things differently. The percussion was exactly where it needed to be as far as I am concerned. It kept the mood of the song focused on the theme of the song. All in all this a really good performance and my hat is off to you for the composition and the delivery of this track. Great Job.

Pretty good listening. Good lyrics, good beat. The keys sound great without overpowering the song. I would add some slight effects to the lead vocals to give them more body and strength. There are times when they sound strained. The harmonies are good and it would be cool if the ending had a little keyboard dash just to add a little personality to it. Its a really good song with a good story. I believe that with a few adjustments, it could be a great song. Thanks for letting me listen. Keep it up.

This song will grab your attention. The movement in the intro will lift your spirits. The melody will keep you listening. If there is a down side I think it is in the length although it kept my attention.

easy listening

This is a song that is easy to listen to . The vocalist sounds real. The keyboards have a nice peaceful feeling to them.(very talented) Bass and drums sound nice and tight. I would add some backing vocals to fatten up the voice. All in all very good , so keep up the good work.
