Safe Kids Worldwide statistics in October 2016 reports 5 teen pedestrian deaths every week in the United States. Unsafe street crossing was observed in about 80% of students. The pedestrian death rate for 12-19 year olds is up 13% since 2013. Teen drivers make up about 1/2 of the pedestrian fatalities.
