About Dr Fred Cole
I've been writing and creating music my whole life in many different genres, starting in prog rock groups in the UK in the 70s, playing in funk and soul bands in the 80s after moving to Australia. In the 90s I strayed into Electronica and Trance, and then after 2000 I came back to Jazz and Acoustic Piano Improvisations. Hi everyone. So grateful for all of your support and listening. I’m just letting you know that I’ve started releasing all of my back catalogue on all of the streaming sites. So if there is a track that you’ve really enjoyed, the rest of the album it came from is now listenable on Spotify or Apple Music etc. Just search for Dr Fred Cole ???? I’ve put up 8 albums so far, with about the same number to go.

Read moreI wish all of you the best and most creative year ahead. The only good thing to come out of the shitstorm that was 2020 was this show that I was privileged to write the music for, and, in a minor miracle it was performed live to real audiences. Please watch the show, comment, and subscribe to my channel! link
Read moreI've been working hard finishing the music for a dance theatre show being performed next month at a local venue, incorporating a digital video artist, lighting designer, costume designer and the Sprung Integrated Dance Company. I've just uploaded 3 tracks as a taster. Let me know what you think! I've attached the opening piece, which is accompanied by a large video screen showing neurons firing round the brain. The other two pieces are 'Man in the moon' and 'Suspended'

Dear artist friends:
I have a proposal to alleviate by a small percentage the economic losses we will suffer in the next few months. This requires at least 1,000 people to join. The proposal is as follows:
Each of those people must have or open a YouTube channel. The 1,000 involved must subscribe to each other's channels so everyone can monetize their channel. (That means YouTube will pay you a tiny proportion for every visit to your videos). Similarly, those 1,000 people must try to play the videos of others channels even if they leave them running continuously. Let's call it #covidartssurvivalplan
For starters I promise to subscribe and follow everyone who subscribes to my channel. If you're interested share this email. Let's make the networks work for us now that we're stuck in them all day.

All tracks were recorded at home on the Bechstein Model V.
God Bless the Child was recorded in an impromptu session with guest vocals by Sasha Grace.
Mud Crab Boogie is a track from the solo Blues Piano album 'Blue But Not Rare'
Stella By Starlight was recorded with a few mates from the 'Big Band at the End of the Universe'!
