Rock’n’Roll spoken here! November is here and that means Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner as 2017 is quickly coming to an end. Where did this year go? 2017 will probably be a year most people will want to forget, especially if you’ve had to endure disasters like hurricanes, floods, fires and Trump. I’ll throw in Brexit for our UK fans. Speaking of which… NEW NEWS…Nub Music in the UK released the “Way To Know” single on October 20 as part of the Rage Against The Brexit Machine project, a cause spearheaded by author/musician Peter Cook in the UK. Despite Brexit going forward in the UK, there is still a slim possibility that Parliament could overturn Brexit if it had the moral courage to do so. We released a press release that gives more information about Rage Against The Brexit Machine: LONDON, ENGLAND, October 16, 2017 -- Sha-La Music, Inc. announces that American rocker DownTown Mystic has contributed the song Way To Know to the Rage Against The Brexit Machine project in the UK, spearheaded by business author/musician Peter Cook. Way To Know will be the 4th single released by the RATBM project on UK label Nub Music and is set for release on October 20. The Way To Know single features the RnR Hall of Fame rhythm section of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band--"Mighty" Max Weinberg & Garry Tallent. The Rage Against The Brexit Machine project is part of a Stop Brexit Movement using pop music to bring attention to the unexpected results that Brexit will cause in the UK if it is not overturned before it's too late. The man behind RATBM is Peter Cook, who's written several books on business innovation using music. He's also a successful management consultant in the UK, who's won a Leadership Prize from Sir Richard Bransonand appears regularly on Virgin.com. Peter says "Naked populism brought us the Brexit referendum result. We will lay Brexit to rest via a populist approach that will expose the naked truth about Brexit and the compelling benefits of a Better Britain in a United Europe." So how did a US artist get involved with a distinctly UK project like Rage Against The Brexit Machine? DownTown Mystic writer/producer, Robert Allen explains, "I just happened to see a tweet that Nub was looking for songs and artists for the RATBM project. I looked into it and thought it was a worthwhile cause. I had a good song to offer and contacted Nub head Mark Lee about it. Mark, with A&R man Guy Thompson, got the song to Peter Cook and put me in touch with him. Peter called me to tell me how much he liked the song and thought it was a good fit." After hearing Way To Know, Peter felt he had found the song for the moment saying, "Way To Know explores the zeitgeist of the day--what is going on around the world?" Robert adds, "Brexit should have forewarned us about the possibility of Trump winning in the US. The one good thing to come out of it is the Resistance Movement against Trump. Maybe the people in the UK should take a good look at the US now and see what happens when lies and fake news are believed--you might not get what you bargained for." DownTown Mystic signed a Licensing Deal with Nub Music in early 2017 following the successful release of the Rock'n'Roll Romantic album in the US. In addition to the Way To Know single, Nub plans to release the DownTown On E Street EP featuring 4 exclusive tracks with Max & Garry. This should pave the way for the release of the Rock'n'Roll Romantic album in 2018. Robert comments, "Nub's recent Distribution Deal with ADA/Warner Music should be of great benefit for releasing DownTown Mystic's music in the UK and the rest of Europe. It's an exciting development." SYNC…With receipt of the latest BMI Royalty statement, DownTown Mystic had music placed on a few new shows like the CMT Hot 20 Countdown on CMTV, Diesel Brothers on Discovery, Bathroom Kings on Destination America, Filthy Riches on Nat Geo Explorer and NHL Hockey on Direct TV and Comcast Sports. This adds to the over 100 TV shows with DownTown Mystic music playing in them. Royalties were also collected from 16 Countries. Gotta love being global!!
