If it’s August then the dog days of summer are here! The dog days of summer refer to the hottest and most humid days of the summer, which the Romans associated with the time of the year that the star Sirius was in the sky. Sirius is called the Dog Star, hence the term “the dog days of summer”. While we’re on the topic of the stars, there was a New Moon Solar Eclipse this past weekend and the Mercury Retrograde will end next weekend, so things are looking up!
NEW NEWS…As mentioned last month, Sha-La Music has signed a Licensing Agreement to join the roster of boutique labels under the European flagship of BMP. Sha-La will provide a RocknRoots presence for BMP. The 1st release under the new deal is expected to be DownTown Mystic’s Rock’n’Roll Romantic album, due out in Europe later this year.
DownTown Mystic also released the “Turn Around and Go” Single last month as part of the new Sha-La/AWAL/Kobalt Music deal. It’s had a great run going into its 4th week of release. Be sure to check it out on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/y7ntbt88
RADIO…The “Turn Around And Go” Single was released at Radio on July 20 via iPluggers and the promotion has been quite successful, getting 143 radio stations in 17 countries. That number could grow to be much larger when all is said and done thanks to the single being added by a number of companies with Instore play in the range of anywhere between 10-90,000 potential stations. SYNC…With a few more TV shows added on the BMI Royalty statement in June, DownTown Mystic now has music sync licensed on over 150 shows that get televised in more than 20 countries around the world!
As previously mentioned, we found out that the film “Monumental” with Jeremy Irons, has been re-titled as “Better Start Running”. Last month it was headlining the Flyover Film Festival in Louisville, KY where much of the film was shot. We have the song “Fly Like The Wind” in the movie, and even better, the trailer for “Better Start Running” features “Fly Like The Wind” in the last 35 seconds!!
