WHAT !

This was a true surprise, this guy can blow the roof off with his wicked vocal power. I can't say enough, on time on pitch and wailing !! I had to re-paint my listen room after cranking Dominic up on the sound system, literally peeled the paint off the wall's. Would love to jam with you !!! Will A

All the right stuff!

Buy my title on the song I believe this song has it. The mix the vocals the attitude was all there! great tune!! I could totally appreciate the course were at sped up and got very aggressive I dug that part of the song. I also found the breakdown in the middle of the song very effective as well as most songs today do not have the right stuff. I look forward to hearing more of your tunes in the future. Excellent job guys

Whiplash

Once again, Dominic rocks! And once again, I have very little critique to offer here. There is an old saying: "The artist asked for critique and merely gained praise." So, in this case, I can offer a lot of praise, and very little critique other than my usual producer/engineer input: The track is rather quiet. It needs to be mastered to a -3db output with a compressor/limiter mastering chain, and the vocal is too far above the rhythm section. I am sure you already know this, but I will repeat it: The kick drum and bass guitar should be level-matched, as should the snare drum and guitar. Jimmy Page always favored Bonzo's drums in the mix; pushing his guitars back. Of course, he had one of the world's greatest drummers . . . and really, the drummer is the heart and soul of the band. Without a great drummer, you can never have a great band. Guitarists are a dime a dozen and great keyboardists are the rarest of all in the world of music. So, keep the guitars IN the mix, not on top and keep the vocals and keys just slightly above the snare drum. Again, master for playback consistency, and keep rocking on! Loud and proud! -Kieron

good stuff

For some reason I was not even going to hit the play button on this song . Glad I did. What more can you ask for? Good players, unique lyric and musical ideas . Funny and interesting to listen to. Some real shredding in areas and some Odd time action as well. This is not for everybody. If your a II V I type move on. But, If you dig adventure then 'u drive too slow' is just your speed. This is the best rating I have given so far . Like Mark says "Wash your teeth, you never know who your going to meet." Good Luck.

I Liked It!

I like songs that start off like this and keeps the pedal to the metal all the way thru. Great song you have here Dominic. The only thing I can find 'just a little' wrong with it, is the drowning out of the guitar solo in the middle bridge. It came out finally at around the 3 minute mark and it was nice at that point. Maybe, just get it out front a bit more at the bridge and you'll get that (5) you deserve. Good Luck in your music adventure, man. ~ Gizzmow, Bonham, Texas

A little Steppenwolf anyone?

Whiplash, is a little Steppenwolf meets 90's grunge and angst vocals. The song is definitely a rocker. Well recorded and produced. The voice is good and fitting to the song. It sounds like he is going to shred his vocal chords at some points but Dominic keeps it together. The lead guitar is nicely done. Classic style of songwriting following all the rules. The ending is clean. Nothing negative to say. Good work Dominic.

Old School rock is the best!

I'm really diggin' this song...the guitar reminds me a bit of Steppenwolf. Vocals in some parts could use a bit of tuning up but I dig the style. The artist said they wanted the song to make people drive faster and in my opinion, they've accomplished that with it's fast, straight forward beat and tempo...Just be sure to pay attention to the road lol! Overall this is a good song, simple, straight forward, nothing fancy, good old fashioned rock and roll...Good Job!

Whip It, Whiplash It Good

I'm always concerned when people classify their songs as "rock" when they post for a review. Usually they're really horrible. This song isn't Soft Rock, so the classification is off. However, what this song is - fun, kick-ass, guitar licks and great drums. The vocals are good for a "rock" song and it's something I'd enjoy putting on a playlist and hitting repeat. It'll be good to hear more from this artist.

Like it!

Liked it for sure. There are elements of old Rock, and then all of the sudden it gets heavier. Like the vocals, and I like the overall sound of the instruments. Sounds like a very good solid song, from a talent. Keep up the good tunes! Sincerely Edward Westbrook

Whiplash

I think this is a very good Rockin' tune. The melody line is very catchy and the vocals are very strong and powerful. The guitar solo was very short and sweet and right to the point. This song has everything you need to Rock out.

sometimes you move forward, sometimes you move back....

Dominic J Dema brings us Whiplash, a southern rock style tune. The quick pace and classic one four five framework have a lot going for it. But the vocals are pretty bad. Often the singer goes off key or falls flat screaming pasted the top of his lung capability. From a producer's standpoint the vocals need to be redone with more attention to staying on key. The lead solo is rather self indulgent and doesn't embrace the rhythm structure or melodic line. To be honest the song is over done and therefore comes up short.
