|  |  |  |  |  |  | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Founded by 2 former Mei Tei Sho members, DJ Kostia and Sir Jean, Dokhandeme was originally in year 2000 an Afro-Jamaican sound-system. In year 2004, it sets up as a real live band with drums, bass guitar, turntables and MC. Dokhandeme means in Wolof (main Senegalese language) a cast of perpetual emigrants looking for job where there is and freely spreading news around their trip, knowing that one wasn't born Dokhandeme but one becomes one. And those guys deeply became some due to their multiple origins, diverse musical influences and above all their daily commitments to awake consciousness.
On microphone, native from Dakar (Senegal) Nasree, he sings in mother language Wolof with a typical captivating voice. He forged himself a positive and undeniable stage presence by rapping since he was a teenager with headline Senegalese hip-hop artists like Xalima, Djolof, Rasta Baby. One also noticed him with Youssou N'Dour and La Razzia on compilation “African Wants to Be Free” released by Survie association. Kostia, former guitar player in Mei Tei Sho, is as well at ease with mic or bass guitar or turntables and after more than 600 concerts is internationally recognized. Disciple of musical experiments and diverse sound-effects, he's both MC and one of the two composers. The other one, DJ Cherif, experienced scratching sorcerer is also a talented producer and arranger. As one of the French hip-hop pioneers with namely IAM, he's worked with Rachid Taha and Dee Nasty. Nico Delaunay is a master of drums and percussions, teaching at music Conservatoire and performing with many bands, he brings perfect energy to live shows. | | |
