Bio of the Artist
Before officially kicking off in February of 2003, Demiurge members Isa Pilapil (guitars) and Ian Cuevas (bass/vocals) were writing songs since the summer of 2001. Originally planning to concentrate with mainly vocals, Ian (then bassist for a melodic hardcore/punk rock outfit) picked up the bass as well for Demiurge after they had to let go of their original bassist due to the lack of ability to catch up with the musical direction the band was aiming for.

Isa, who strictly concentrated on a very strong and precisely unforgiving rhythm style, compromised with her own musical ideologies and wrote more loose and ‘thrash’ heavy riffs to compliment the then imminent Demiurge rhythm structure.

Ramil reinforced what little of the sound wasn’t coming together with his 90s thrash inspired playing and hastily sped up the song writing process. Within six months of the band’s forming, the trio was already geared up to record their first release.

Isa and Ramil wrote almost 90% of all the music leaving Ian to concentrate more on the lyrics and numerous aural stunts heard mostly on their debut CD.

Not entirely modern thrash or hardcore crossover and intentionally avoiding the more brutal nuances of the then current metal wave, Demiurge put their sites on giving their brand of metal a more mature sound and spirit.

A cerebral fusion of music and independent thought, Demiurge redefines awareness, free will and freedom of speech through their brutally honest lyrical expression and unwavering and solid musical style.

Unhindered by the traditionally accepted ranting and idealistic heckling of today's fashionably rebellious youth, the band takes a deliberate, more direct approach to expressing dissent.

In this day and age, where godlessness is a fashion statement and blasphemy is the new drug, many have dressed the part and have taken their fix. Proof of only one thing: Where the old has left off the new has taken up. Nothing has changed.

Demiurge stands behind one principle; one school of thought. Neither pious nor profane: “We must think for ourselves. We must not readily swallow everything that is fed us. We must not accept. Acceptance is always the strongest link amongst the weakest minds.”
