Steven Collins started DEADMAN in 1999 as an avenue to explore his songwriting. DEADMAN's debut record was produced at The Paramour Estate in Silverlake, California in 2000 by Mark Howard (Daniel Lanois, U2, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Emmy Lou Harris, Willie Nelson). The record was released on Lakeshore Records and songs appeared on numerous soundtracks. DEADMAN's second album, Our Eternal Ghosts, was also produced by Howard and took the band on the road to the UK, Europe, and all across the United States. The band became a critical success with appearances on Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW, performing on KEXP, making an appearance on the stages of the Austin City Limits Music festival.
