Song Reviews

Cool review

The music is cool! I love listening to this kind of soft rock music again and again. The music composition and the performance is MVP (the most valuable player). The voice of the artist is also terribly perfect and the way it's recorded is also awesome. In almost more than forty songs that I have reviewed so far, on my top five list this song comes accidently to my no 2nd list. Awesome. Awesome. Sometimes its a surprise to get heard best songs once in a while at N1M, and this is the one!! Cheers!! Best of luck!!

Rock the way it should be!

Helpful

Just their name alone got me to check out their music and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Especially their song After Dark, opens with that old school rock riff and then when the lead guitar comes in it reminds me of that very early 80's era where prog rock was starting to evolve more into hair metal. Like Motley Crue's first album mixed with WASP and Dokken except a little more melodic. Check this band out, they kill it!!! Jamming to Betrayal now as I type! Cameron Rock'n'Roll Villain Society

Old power ballad style

I love the backing guitar notes and scales, the vocals are nice and strong, the drums add alot, the background vocals really add a lot of feeling and power to the chorus, piano place a very nice lick. well done, a little southern rock style as well.

A really neat and nice song to dream of...

Nice guitar picking introduces the song and then gets smooth into the verse with a female voice, which is far too much effected with reverb and delay for my taste. But one can get used to it due the later great singing lines and the guitars floating from left to right. That's a really neat and nice song to dream of unspoken heroes. The performance is well done, but the production lacks only little improvements. But this is still a good track!

Echos Abound

I like indie rock. I really do. Along with indie rock you get the indie produced sound and that's not necessarily a good thing. The idea to echo the vocals on here are not a strong selling point to me. Distracting and, well, sounds like the producer didn't know what to do and so they did this effect to an otherwise fine vocal performance. A little Janis Joplin-esque in tone. The music gets lost in the vocal effects.

Take out the wash

At the start I loved the tone of the guitars. A nice mix along with the electric guitars throughout. Production wise I find the vocals too heavily reverbed. I think this takes away from the song. I know you probably like the washy sound...this is uaually a desire and fault of the vocalist thinking her vocals aren't very good but I think the vocalist is very good and should be clearer . Do away a bit with the reverb and I think you'll be happier. You could also slightly reduce the electric guitar wash as well. Good song

Great influences

There's so much I like about this. It's a good song for starters. Band plays great, no issues there. Love the style, I see the "indie rock" there at the top, kind of don't get that. I hear other things, but I'll leave it to you to define what you think your sound and style are. Harmony leads, love it. Pretty much a lost art, great to see it happening, thanks for keeping that sound alive. Snare sound is an issue for me. Just it's sound. Think you could benefit working with someone on the recording side. Vocal sound is good, I feel like it could use just a little work on timing/phrasing. Very close to being there. Again, I liked this a lot, keep up the good work and keeping the styles your playing alive.
