|  |  |  |  |  |  | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Christine Plays Viola are an Italian New wave band born in Pratola Peligna , in 2007.
The group is the brainchild of three boys (Christian, Fabrizio and Daniele) who started composing and recording some songs with computer, marked by bleak and particularly hypnotic colors.
After several months the band is complete with the recruitment of a longtime friend of the three boys: Desio. Since the first production the band's music looks sad, evocative kaleidoscopic, characteristics that allow the quartet to perform in several festivals, with significant involvement of the public and especially great feedback from the critics.
After attending in some compilations, in March 2008 decided to record their first self-produced EP "It'll be cold this winter." The album features sounds rather different: living elements classically identified as indie rock with others to clear matrix Dark / New Wave and ambient in a mood emotional, dark, hypnotic.
The CPV continue their live activities with the intent to promote the EP and trying to make his way through a dense underground scene: in July of 2009 the band won the X edition of the competition POPOLISOUND held in Popoli (PE).
In their performances alongside tracks 'historic', the band proposes new compositions in which the elements Ambient Wave and are increasingly present and the songs are more dynamic and direct.
Subsequently, the CPV damage to the movies! The band is in fact entrusted the composition of the soundtrack of the short film of Loreto Valente "ICS THEME" Out October 19, 2009.
In the summer of 2009 the band recorded an unexpected setback: the vocalist Cristian because of personal problems is forced to leave the band. The separation is still in friendly terms, and consensual.
But the band does not give up! The boys continue to compose music and begin the search for a new singer.
After several audictions, Massimo (ex singer of the Roman melancholic metal band OBLIVIO) becomes the new singer of the band helping to expand the influences of the band with a greater tendency toward melancholy and melodic tones.
The CPV have recently realized the self-produced demo "Useless" To See Beyond ": an excerpt from this EP will be used in new short film of Loreto Valente “Le Nove Croci” out in March 2010.
Soon the band will participate in two festivals: ITALIAWAVE and ORQUESTRA. | | |
