review of Jimmy stay behind

nice smooth snappy start up of a lively little tune, bass makes you wanna tap your toe an the guitaer and banjo don't miss a lick . The vocals are cool and it is a nice little tune would recommend you go listen and enjoy, The singer does a good job of keeping the focus of the story moving with an upbeat scheme and the instruments blend in for an overall nice effect.

Stay Behind

Hi Christa. First off, you suffer from the same thing that I do; a bit of a weak voice. LOL, but both of us can go for some voice training. I do like it that you can sing in tune so that is a huge plus, even if your voice is a bit weak. Don't let that stop you from pressing on. Even my voice has gotten a bit stronger by just singing more, and experimenting with my voice: time of day, sipping hot water to loosen up the larnyx, etc I really like the music, and the instruments, for this song. There are a couple of places in the song where you are singing different notes than what the music is playing. You might want to correct that. ;) At the end of the song, have you considered keeping the volume of the music constant, while singing along with it; and then dropping the over-all volume of the song; so that your voice drops naturally with the music? What I think I heard was that you were trying to drop the volume of your voice with the music that was dropping. Just on a personal note, I think in keeping with the message of your song, I have gone through moments in my Christian walk where I chose to drop behind a person or a group because of the treatment that I was receiving. Then, at a later date (the Lord's timing) the doors opened wide for me to walk through where I was totally blessed. Keep up the great work Christa. Blessings, Trev. :)

Poppy Bluegrass

A nice little bluegrass tune, mid tempo. The song tries a little to hard to rhyme. It's better to show not tell. Paint some scenes which tell the story instead of just telling us. It will make for a richer story and better imagery. The song also could use a chorus or refrain to sum it all up. Fun little ditty, I like the acoustic intro and happy beat. However, the juxtaposition of a happy melody with sad lyrics can confuse the listener. With this happy melody, we're expecting a happy lyric and so on. Keep at it!

good

love this style of music, I love country and all the culture that represents it. the piece fully reflects a country music with lots of guitar, harmonica, bass acoutic and a musical drums that is simply wonderful. ah I forgot the voice that is perfect for this kind of music. great work

Left Behind

Wonderful Bluegrass Guitar and Banjo country sound. A Real String fest! I love the dynamics of the strings that reach the heart and bring the Witness of The Holy Spirit. These Lyrics are not positive confessions. These confessions are not life giving, so I am not keen on the song. If you decreed at the end of the song that you are an Overcomer In Christ this song would speak Life Not Death and Defeat. But I am not staying down, the enemy will not succeed in stealing your JOY if you keep confessing Christ Is My Savior. The Devil comes to kill, steal and destroy, so when you awaken decree "DEVIL YOU ARE UNDER MY FEET" I am A Warrior In Christ and I conquer you and overcome you with my testimony and The Precious Blood of Jesus shed for me that bought me out of that enemy territory and the devil's lair. No Longer Left Behind but brought up to sit at The Right Hand of The Father! The lyrics would be more powerful if you sang about not being one of The Left Behind Ones! The song would be amazing if you sang about how you chose to keep walking that Highway of Holiness! Hal le lu jah!

This song has potential !!

Hey Christa, I would never offer anything less than an honest review because it's important to get everyone's true thoughts, right? The melody is catchy, loved the intro, but the music got a little too busy for me after that. You have good pitch vocally, you just need to convince me emotionally. Ya gotta sell me your product, girlfriend. Simply singing a sweet little melody won't gain you he attention you deserve. Once you've gained the confidence to emit those emotions, don't let he engineer bury those great vocals behind the music....after all, the lyrics sell the song, not necessarily the music! Best of luck and you all just keep writing!!!

Cute song, Christa.

I like this a lot.... up beat and happy, even though it's a sort of sad song. Nice tune, you want to tap your toe and sing along though some of the words are a bit hard to catch. . Great sound.... Sincerly yours, Hanah.

Staying On

Honesty is always the best way to go. The shuffle feels good to me, I was raised on bluegrass & country & gospel. With that said, about this song, I can't quite hear the vocals clear, If I may say put some more feeling in the words you are singing, I like this song. The instruments all sound great, this can be a really good song, say the words in a whole new way. Try to bring the time to about 3:00 minutes & keep writing Songedge
