Celtic Legacy were formed in 1997 and recorded their eponymous debut album the following year. Drawing on influences including Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden, the band also infused their music with a distinct Irish identity. The soaring melodies, twin lead and mythical lyrical themes led to the band creating a unique sound.
After a series of line-up changes, Celtic Legacy recorded a follow up entitled 'Resurrection' in 2003. This album brought the band to the attention of the international community and it wasn't long before stellar reviews began to appear on zines the world over. The album was a major step up from the material on the first album and is regarded as one of the best Irish albums of all time.
Despite the newfound acclaim, Legacy again endured more personnel problems and the band fragmented the following year. It took some time before another incarnation of Celtic Legacy could be put together. However in January 2007, the band finally settled on a line-up and began rehearsals for a third album which they started recording in June. The new album, entitled 'Guardian Of Eternity' will be ready for release in January 2008. |
