| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Burden started in the the late fall of 2005 as a collaboration between friends as a way to jam and see where things would lead. With the eventual addition of a singer in April of 2006, the band (tentatively named Bi-Polar) decided on the name Burden, and played its first live show.
After a few line-up changes over the course of several months, Burden finally locked into its current line-up, and has played over 25 shows at places such as: Peabody's, the Phantasy, the Symposium, Club Khameleon, Fat Jimmy's, the Daily Double, Thursday's Lounge, and the Hi-Fi.
Stylistically, Burden makes it a point to do what it wants and plays the music that comes most natural to its members. Generally speaking, it can be said that they have a strong background in classic and psychedelic rock, early 90s grunge, prog, latin percussion, and truthfully, any rock music that has substance and intelligence behind it.
Burden prides itself on not being part of a passing fad, or part of a manufactured scene. Music, according to them, is meant to be an ascetic journey and enjoyment, and not a social tool that connotes a person's sense of style or clique. In other words, there is no wardrobe inspired by their music, and there is no social crowd in particular that they seek to reach. The music is written in sincerity by three very different individuals, who converge their varying influences and outlooks in music, and is meant to be enjoyed by anyone who finds a connection to it, regardless of where they find themselves socially. | | |
