| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Born in a damp rehearsal room at the foot of the Lake Lugano, Switzerland, Blend71 is a five piece, female fronted band. Their sound, a mixture of alternative, metal, crossover is a combination of a merciless wall of guitars, hard pounding drums, groovy bass-licks and a wicked, colorful female voice, which scares every dedicated listener to death.
Thanks to songs like Tiny box, a cracking ear candy, the angry Hypocrite and the absolutely radio-capable Out of my head, the Alternative Rockers (Ciny voice, Warren guitar, Carlo guitar, Cava bass guitar and Wiz drums) prove that they are exceptionally gifted songwriters.
Their first EP Blend71, released on October 2005 on the Swiss label T:d:M Thunderdome, was produced by Stefano Scenini at StairwayStudio, Switzerland and the five songs were mastered in New York at the Bionic Mastering Studio by Tom Hutten (Ben Harper, Foo Fighters, Gorillaz, Iggy Pop). The Mini Album received excellent feedbacks and reviews from several magazines, webzines and was played by many Swiss radio stations. During 2006, promoting their EP, Blend71 were busy in many live exhibitions that touched the whole Swiss territory and international locations.
From the catchy song Out of my head the band realized their first videoclip, produced and directed by Jasmina Von Buren. The video soon aroused considerable interest from the audience and in August 2006 was selected to be part of the Box[ur]shorts Californian Film Festival Fall program and was screened at some Cafe Lounges of New York City, Los Angeles and Basel (Switzerland). Moreover, for a period of three months, the video was played on the Roboclip Program of the Swiss Television SF2 Channel and other music private television stations. At present, the clip Out of my head still entertains guests at hundreds of independent coffee shops in the US.
In 2007, besides concerts, Blend71 busied themselves in the writing and realization of a new LP. The production of their debut album was given again to Stefano Scenini, while the mastering to the experience of Tom Hutten. This full length album "Signs", released on December 2008, consists of numbers inspired by particular concepts and holds melodies and expressiveness drawn from the singer and the musicians very own emotions, melancholy, delights and sorrows.
During 2009, with the new work Signs, Blend71 gained good reviews and had also the possibility to play live in prestigious festivals like the June ‘09 Greenfield edition in Interlaken, Switzerland on the Mycokemusic stage.
In 2010 the band played gigs and started the new pre-production of their third album. Blend71 is now in studio, is planning to realize a brand new videoclip and organize several live shows across Europe and in May a mini-tour in England. | | |
