| Bio of the Artist |
We call ourselves Allostene and reside in the slightly rougher suburbs, south of Perth city in Western Australia. We're all aged between 19 and 21, work as Tradesmen and have an undying passion for old-school hard rock. All four of us have extensive musical backgrounds, we're all sons of musicians and have been performing in separate bands throughout our Primary and High school years.
We met each other in year 11 after being thrown out of an overcrowded party, exchanged numbers and have been writing together since. We began performing in 2007 and were welcomed warmly by the Perth live-music scene. Our very versatile, hard-rock stylings and chaotic live shows scored us some excellent support slots for Local and Interstate bands. We performed 26 shows between May and December last year and 11 more up until June this year, completely by request of numerous agents, label managers and event organisers.
We've taken time off gigging since June to record our debut EP “High Road”
It's our first 'official' release and contains 5 of our most intense songs; about intimate personal tragedy, addiction, guilt and loss, Packed with undeniably catchy riffs, intricate drum work and the most ridiculously beautiful guitar solo's known to man.
Included on this website are 3 tracks from it. [Head. Under Water has yet to be released in Australia. It's our little gift to our international friends!]
The artwork and design is nearing completion and we have a company in Perth lined up to duplicate 500 copies of “High Road”. An EP launch is being organised and we've recently posted two preview tracks on myspace, receiving massive hits & compliments.
Various Perth, Local National and Independant radio station's are awaiting a release of ours for airplay and online streaming, which will be forwarded over the coming weeks. We very-much believe that with some very careful marketing & promotion, to a target demographic, Allostene have potential to sell. Live shows, that will cause a stir and a sound that could support Soundgarden! From here we begin the writing of our album, having already, a number of quality songs which we left off the EP. Merchandise & CD's will be sold, shows will be played and money will be saved as we strive toward our next goal, our album.
Up until now, we've remained completely self-managed, unsigned and independent but are open to offers from an adequate label for which to release “High Road” through and to undertake the management of Allostene. In the near future we hope to tour rigorously, record our LP and move to any State/Country where opportunity lie. If you hear the potential in Allostene and are,
