| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | From a musical family, Alan began singing & songwriting in his early teens and initially cut his teeth with several established local bands before forming the duo Equator with fellow Yorkshire musician Darren Fox. Together they signed a US record deal that provided them with useful insight into the music business, if not a hit record. Ultimately however, Equator was consigned to history and Alan stepped out on his own.
By 2001, Alan was developing his own distinctive dance pop sound and voice, writing and performing with powerhouse vocalist Lonnie Gordon on the song “Time Is Tight”. It was the hooky “Here In My Heart” however that would provide the initial flush of success in 2003, registering in many regional dance charts in the UK and US, and receiving a substantial amount of airplay.
In 2005, the single “(Get It) On The Track” received major attention across Europe, making the dance charts in 8 countries, including the UK. Alan was also busy producing for other artists, and worked on projects for both Warner Brothers and Sony BMG.
By late 2007, he had joined the D6 Records roster for an album, “After Midnight”. A single, the uplifting “Now The Rain Has Gone”, supported the album and landed in the UK pop top 20. A cover version of the Roxy Music classic “Dance Away” followed it into the club charts, peaking at #7, and hitting number 1 on the Eurodance chart, as well as top 30 across the continent.
Another top 10 hit, “Let Your Love Flow” came at the end of 2008. The record dominated TV screens, thanks to a stellar animated video and polished production from 7th Heaven, who would take up production duties for Alan’s second album, “Something Going On” (Liberty City).
A musical change of direction occurred in 2009 when Alan teamed up with Beltek for the Tiesto favourite, “I Love The Sunshine”, which proved to be one of the key dance records across the world in 2009. Further Beltek productions followed with two more top 10 singles, “Sun Went Down” (New State) and, in 2011, “Stone Cold” (Sirup Music). Alan also found time recently to record the huge Russian hit “Caught In The Rain” with the countries #1 DJ, Bobina.
Collaborations lined up for 2012 already include records with Ron Van Den Beuken & T.O.M. on Spinnin’ Records, Cosmetix, Setrise and Thereza Bazar, plus a return to the commercial clubs with a new version of the Beloved hit "Sweet Harmony". | | |
