ACELSIA's recent musical development has seen them transcending the bounderies of several heavy rock and metal genres, taking influence from any kind of music that seems fit. This makes for songs that range from heavy and dramatic to spacy and pensive. The lyrics speak of yearnings, contemplations and complications – intimate and personal explorations of life. This is all woven into compositions that take on everything from pop to different types of metal. Acelsia set out to write music that captures their heart and imagination, not necessarily songs that fit a typical genre or format.
ACELSIA is a Norwegian five piece hard rock/goth metal band. Originally a solo project in a more alternative rock style, initiated by singer Malene summer 2006, Acelsia's current incarnation was born late 2007. The band has since then found themselves steadily moving towards a more heavy and aggressive sound, focusing on dynamic, feeling and melody. The music is contrastive and emotional, shifting between extremes, from the soft and sweet to brutal and heavy, yet always with a strong melody at the center. |
