François Essindi is a Cameroonian music artist, introduced to traditional art.
He plays traditional wind, skin and body instruments. François Essindi is
also luthier, he makes replicas of endangered instruments in his culture
Ekang in southern Cameroon, (traditional harps) Mvet, Ngomo
- Player of pygmy flutes, leaves, arc-mouth ...)
Percussionist, Nkul player (Tam-tam), Ngom (long drum)
- Snail shell and hazel player) and body percussion
Trained at the Yaoundé National Ensemble in Cameroon and thanks to the
many internships and cultural meetings, through the Goethe Institute of Yaoundé
and the French Cultural Center in Yaounde, François has benefited from a great experience

which has made him a credible artist in his country, with awards and honors.

Cameroon, and elsewhere ...

Today, in residence at the Aleph theater in Ivry sur Seine, François Essindi continues his
activity, he harvested and translated into French traditional tales from the southern region of
Cameroon that he tells in music in schools and other places. Four of these tales have
was published in a bilingual book and illustrated by L'Harmattan editions:

- The Hunter and Porcupine
- The Magic Whistle
Francis, a percussion instrument player, organizes introductory workshops every Monday.

François made in Paris copies of the traditional instruments in the vanishing
his culture. He goes to meet musicians of all horizons. This project is called the "Tag
Ekang Music Experiences ... »Small concerts of this project are slowly emerging in Paris,
in, Ile de France or elsewhere in Francen Germany, Portugal, Cameroon...
The musician:
On the music side, François Essindi works with artists from diverse backgrounds, works with
theater and dance companies both as actors or musical composers.
Participation in films both as actor and musical composer. François works with
instruments that he refabricates in Paris, and sometimes by changing their form. He qualifies his Music
of "Tag Ekang Music Experiences" ... Gather on stage instruments, sounds, machines
and musicians from all Horizons.
François intervenes, in schools, penitentiary, in Concerts in cultural places in
festival and in the corridors of the Parisian Metro, because artist of the Paris Metro since 2009.

Otoulbaka represented Cameroon at several venues and festivals between 1980 and 2001.
In 2005, François Essindi made a musical project Abakuya thanks to a meeting in Switzerland with
an Australian bassist (Jimi Sofo)

Anxious about the disappearance of certain instruments of his culture, François manufactures in Paris
instruments of his culture Ekang (Mvet, Ngomo, Mouth Rainbow). He also repairs instruments
Skin (Change of Skins, and all odds related to these instruments (Djembe, or any other skin instrument).
The Tag Ekang Music Experiences ...
François makes instruments in Paris in order to make them credible and to share them with
greater number. He goes to meet artists and instruments of modernity for
share his experience and his culture to as many people as possible. It is from this meeting that will be born
the project !
This project brings together musicians (guests) from all over the world, machines and instruments.
