About Geno

Born July 1987 Erick aka Geno in Stone Park, IL and raised in Aurora, IL. Geno started off with music from a young age, dj music like, Tha godfather Frankie knuckles, DJ capcom, DJ biserk, house music was more to his liking until a Biggie cd drop in his lap and rap music was introduced to him and it opened a bigger area for him to see talent like Three six mafia, nwa, busta rhymes, Eminem, Dr. Dre, (expired link)., Lil flip, Shawty low, young Joc, to Nas, jay-z, fat Joe, and more.
At the age of 14, he stayed low key skateboarding around town, hustling without the knowledge of anyone around him finding out, from an early age he continued to build and form a studio in his parents house to the house he purchased at 19 years old, money was not a problem, he devised a plan that made him 100,000+, from a casino but from the inside, and for a couple of years the plan was going right and created a studio in the basement with all the equipment he need to start his own label, and from aurora to Chicago making money hustling was the bread and the low key job to continue to fund his label.
Doing shows and performing in local areas underground, under the group name Black Smoke and creating Geno's first mixtape "Straight from the Cut" with band member Jorge aka Vrolet, couple of shows and joining the group in late 2006 joey aka Da GodFather, together they worked on beats, production, even photography and session to prepare for shows. while producing beats was on the raise in the scene of aurora,ill, one of Geno's influence into producing was his long time friend Don Juan, he created most of the beats that created a cultural liking to hip hop in aurora, IL,
Chicago was on a tipping point because of gang violence and times were tough sometime, but pushing forward was a mission of Geno and then one day it all came crumbling down, people snitched and Geno was caught up in a loop against all odds, different agents were investigating the theft of money that had no trace at all, and a set up was created by these agent, and Geno was arrested and charge on one count of theft over 10000, in the brink of facing 5ys in prison, his business associates, who liked a clean record, cut ties with geno, but truth be told keeping a stash is the key in the hustle game , Geno actually took over $120,000+ which with the power of lawyers and cash, Geno was released on a 5yrs probation and 150 hour community service, but they twisted his arm and ordered him to pay a created amount of what the casino thought should be paid back, and place 15000 to be paid back.
With the separation of his girlfriend for 3 yrs, Geno was on a spiral downward, and with the markets downsizing he lost his home and his dream of owning his own label, then One Day Geno decide to make a move and left to the southwestern part of kansas, an began a new life to build what he once had, he released a couple of underground mixtapes one called futuristic stylez and the other young goons music, Geno performed in the city of liberal, ks and introduced himself to the small scene of artist in liberal, but worked with different artist from the area to try to inspire the art of lyricism, but people who looked at him as a threat decided to not work with a type of artist like geno, until one day he came upon a friend who introduced him to Marcus aka Monsta, and monsta showed geno his untouchables Mixtape that had recently dropped and from then on Monsta and Geno teamed up to Bring the real art of hip hop to the area, together with Marc tha don, a union between artist was created to introduce Forty five Music(formally known as 45 swag ent.) , and in late summer of 2011 after years of struggling to build the label, he was given a gift of all gift, his baby girl zyah nicole salas born august 2011,
geno became a father and with trial and tribulation that he was facing in liberal with other charges and going in and out of jail, geno decided to make a change, he separated from his baby momma and took custody, because of the issues concerning his baby momma, and in 2013 finally release from probation geno was a free man, but doing so cops in the the southwest region of the country look at him as a threat because of his record, and geno was a victim of police arresting him for no reason, and is facing more trial.
Times have changed and passed that now Geno is on mission with the help of the fan to push this music to different level, an to perform at higher peaks then ever before and having a steady work ethic and mindful of the studio recording process and mixes, Geno is on a movement, power movement,
to show these kids that this is an art and used as a battle point, and not a mediocre sounding track like young thug, limitless, was his third mixtape out, this mixtape has music that will pound the bass in the trunk and some great word play but for his fourth mixtape "Truth Be Told" is out now, Geno stepped up in to a whole new rap game with catchy hooks and bassy tunes and the reality of the story he is telling geno is inviting you to see what he see's so stay tune and more music to come by Geno.
